Summary: The study found that most patients try to incorporate cues into their daily routines to help them with consistent medication taking; many patients leverage some form of technology as a cue to support adherence to medication taking and diabetes self-management behaviors; patients value simplicity and integration of technology solutions used for diabetes care, managing medications, and communicating with health care providers; some patients express reluctance to rely on mobile technology for these diabetes care behaviors; and patients believe they prefer positively framed communication, but communication preferences are highly individualized.

Summary: The TEXT4BP study aimed to assess the effectiveness and acceptability of a mobile phone text messaging intervention (TEXT4BP) in improving blood pressure control and treatment adherence among patients with hypertension in Nepal. The study found that the intervention group had greater reductions in blood pressure and improved medication adherence compared to the control group. The intervention was well accepted by the participants. This study provides promising evidence that text messaging interventions can be effective in improving blood pressure control in low-resource settings.

Summary: This scoping review examined the state of participant engagement measurement in Microrandomized trials (MRTs) of mHealth interventions. Results showed that while the measurement of engagement is prevalent in MRTs, future trials need to diversify the measurement of engagement and address the lack of attention to how engagement is determined and moderated.

Summary: This study evaluated the effects of mobile health apps on medication adherence and health outcomes in patients with CVD, finding that these apps tended to increase medication adherence and improve clinical outcomes. However, there is a wide variation in the design, content, and delivery of these interventions, necessitating further research to identify key components for successful apps.

Summary: The study showed significant main effects of personality type and repetition, with emotional messages being more effective than logical ones in motivating exercise adherence. Regular reminders significantly improved adherence rates for those with thinking personality types. Incorporating field experiments into the design process can help enhance the effectiveness of mHealth apps.

Summary: The study found that renovated Community Clinics in Meherpur and Kustia District in Bangladesh had higher compliance with water sanitation and hygiene facilities compared to non-renovated clinics. Compliance rates were lower among clients aged <= 40 years and married individuals in terms of safe drinking water usage, while those with no formal education were more likely to neglect the use of toilet and hand washing facilities. Renovated clinics need dedicated human resources and effective policies for sustainability, while non-renovated clinics need to develop and maintain their WASH facilities.

Summary: In three large hospitals in Dhaka city, the study aimed to determine the proportion of Self-monitoring of Blood Glucose (SMBG) users and identify factors influencing nonuse. Among 598 type 2 diabetic subjects, 71% were found to be SMBG nonusers, with the highest proportion in public hospitals. Monthly income status and advice were the most impactful factors on SMBG use, with physicians, relatives, and friends being the major sources of advice. Irregular diabetes check-up and distrust of results were also significant reasons for nonuse among SMBG nonusers.

Summary: This study explored the infection and vaccination status of COVID-19 among healthcare professionals in Bangladesh, revealing a significant number of respondents who were COVID-19 positive but remained unvaccinated due to registration issues, misconceptions about the vaccine, and health-related concerns. Older respondents were more likely to test positive for infection, while males, allied health professionals, and younger individuals in public organizations were identified as more likely to be unvaccinated. Specific strategies and policies are needed to ensure safety measures and vaccination among healthcare professionals on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
