Summary: Many studies have shown that blood-based liquid biopsies can detect cancer in its early stages, but the limitation lies in the volume of blood required. Researchers have developed a new technology that can capture ctDNA from flowing unaltered plasma, but further validation and optimization are needed.

Summary: This report presents a case of a 56-year-old male with Hodgkin lymphoma who was diagnosed with a composite of AITL and focal classical Hodgkin lymphoma through gene rearrangement and immunohistochemical examinations. Unfortunately, the patient passed away shortly after the correct diagnosis. This case highlights the importance of early diagnosis and the use of combined immunohistochemistry and gene rearrangement analysis for improving the diagnostic accuracy of AITL.

Summary: This study investigated the relationship between retinal morphology and function in patients with vitreoretinal lymphoma (VRL) using optical coherence tomography (OCT) and electroretinography (ERG). The results showed that 90.9% of the eyes had morphological abnormalities in OCT images, and 54.5% of the eyes had severe dysfunction in the outer retinal layer based on ERG analysis. These findings provide valuable insights for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of VRL.

Summary: The study aimed to explore the consistency of P53 immunohistochemical expression between preoperative biopsy and final pathology in endometrial cancer (EC), and to predict the prognosis of patients based on the 4-tier P53 expression and classic clinicopathological parameters. The consistency of P53 expression between preoperative biopsy and final pathology was 83.8%, with a kappa coefficient of 0.624. The 4-tier P53 expression was found to be an independent influencing factor for recurrence and death, and nomogram models were successfully established to predict the prognosis of patients.

Summary: The majority of patients with Follicular Lymphoma (FL) experience subsequent phases of remission and relapse, making the disease virtually incurable. Clinical-based prognostic scores have been proposed to predict the outcome of FL patients at diagnosis, but they continue to fail for a subset of patients. Gene expression profiling has highlighted the pivotal role of the tumor microenvironment (TME) in the FL prognosis, but there is still a need to standardize the assessment of immune-infiltrating cells for prognostic classification.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of diabetes on the neuropeptide B/W signaling system in different heart compartments and neurons. The results show changes in mRNA expression of preproNPB, preproNPW, and NPBWR1 in diabetic rats. The protein level of NPBWR1 is significantly downregulated in the LV of diabetic rats. Additionally, NPW has a positive inotropic effect on diabetic cardiomyocytes.

Summary: This study investigated gross and histological lesions and related pathogens in pigs that died during the nursery period in five Danish farms. It was found that lesions were most prevalent in the skin, respiratory system, gastrointestinal tract, and joints. Histopathological assessment should be combined with gross assessment to accurately diagnose lung and joint lesions, and in situ identification is needed to confirm the presence of pathogens.

Summary: Limited studies have been conducted on kidney biopsy findings in patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL). This retrospective study aimed to analyze kidney biopsy findings in MCL patients. The study identified 30 MCL patients who underwent kidney biopsies, with 70% of those with active MCL presenting with acute kidney injury, proteinuria, hematuria, and biopsy findings potentially linked to lymphoma. The study also found diverse monoclonal and polyclonal glomerular and extra-glomerular immune complex (IC) and complement-mediated (C3) diseases associated with MCL.

Summary: The occurrence of primary pulmonary lymphoma (PPL) as a secondary malignancy in patients diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is extremely rare. Most patients with PPL tend to be misdiagnosed with pneumonia due to atypical clinical manifestations. In cases where the patient's recurrent respiratory symptoms and imaging findings do not coincide, secondary tumors should be considered in addition to infection as a diagnosis.

Summary: The study investigated the genotoxicity of furan and its reactive metabolite in mammalian cells and mouse models, revealing that both furan and BDA induce significant chromosomal damage but exhibit weak mutagenic activity. Inter-strand crosslinks (ICLs) are identified as key lesions for chromosomal damage, while oxidized base lesions are unlikely to play a critical role.

Summary: This study found that NOTCH1 activation is a negative prognostic factor in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) patients, significantly reducing Time To First Treatment (TTFT) regardless of NOTCH1 and IGHV mutation status. Activation of NOTCH2 and expression of JAGGED1 also influence clinical outcomes in this group, highlighting the need for further dedicated studies to refine CLL risk stratification using different components of the NOTCH network.

Summary: IL30 plays a crucial role in regulating the viability and growth of breast cancer stem cells (BCSC) through juxtacrine signals and mediators such as CXCL10 and IL23. Targeting IL30 could potentially restrain the BCSC compartment and counteract breast cancer progression by disrupting its autocrine loops and immune subversion pathways.
