Summary: The study aimed to assess the health-related quality of life (HRQL) of food-allergic patients compared to the general population and those with other chronic diseases. Results showed that food-allergic patients had better HRQL in certain domains compared to healthy controls and other chronic disease patients, but had poorer overall health perception. While most food-allergic children had been prescribed an epinephrine autoinjector, only slightly over half of them carried it with them at all times.

Summary: The study aimed to compare the patient-reported mental health outcomes for men undergoing treatment for localized prostate cancer over a 5-year period. The results showed that there were no clinically significant differences in mental health outcomes, including depressive symptoms, emotional well-being, and energy/fatigue, based on the treatment received (surgery, radiotherapy, or surveillance). However, certain factors like older age, poorer health, being unmarried, and baseline depressive symptoms were associated with worse mental health outcomes.

Summary: This study explores the associations between nutritional status and health-related quality of life, physical activity, and sleep quality in older exclusively Caucasian adults from Greec. The results show that a better nutritional status is significantly and independently associated with higher physical activity levels, better quality of life, and better sleep quality. Further intervention studies are needed to clarify the associations and test the feasibility of improving the nutritional status, physical activity levels, and sleep quality of the elderly.

Summary: This study examined the impact of frailty and decreased muscle mass on health-related quality of life among young adult cancer survivors. It was found that survivors with frailty or low muscle mass reported worse health, functional impairments, and overall quality of life compared to nonfrail survivors. Interventions targeting frailty components may help improve function and quality of life in this population.
