Summary: Rhenium is a rare and important metal widely used in high-temperature superalloys and platinum-rhenium catalysts. The primary production of rhenium is as a by-product in the production of other metals, and the recycling process is similar to extracting rhenium from primary resources. The main challenges lie in enriching rhenium in production and recovering spent rhenium scrap with high recovery rates.
