Summary: A novel magnetic anion exchange microbead (NAEM) with excellent reuse and anti-fouling performance was developed for the removal of reactive dye sunset yellow (FCF). NAEM exhibited a significantly higher initial adsorption rate and equilibrium adsorption capacity for FCF compared to commercial anion-exchange resins. The multilayered adsorption of FCF on different resins suggests the contribution of physical adsorption. NAEM also demonstrated enhanced anti-interference capacity and prolonged reusability compared to other resins.

Summary: In this study, chitosan (CS) and graphene oxide (GO) were combined to synthesize CS/GO composites with different GO contents. The combination of CS and GO not only improved the surface area by reducing agglomeration of GO sheets, but also significantly enhanced the adsorption capacity of cationic dye on CS. The Langmuir adsorption capacity of methylene blue (MB) reached 259.5 mg/g at pH 8 and 30 degrees C for the CS/GO12 material. The composite showed good adsorption-regeneration performance.

Summary: The increasing industrial activities have led to the influx of pollutants into water resources, calling for their removal due to their toxicity. A microcrystalline cellulose/graphene oxide aerogel was synthesized as an adsorbent and its efficiency in removing methylene blue dye from aqueous solutions was investigated. Various factors were optimized to determine the adsorption capacity, including the concentration of graphene oxide in the aerogel, pH of the solution, adsorbent dosage, initial concentration of dye, and contacting time. The results showed a maximum adsorption capacity of 645 mg g(-1), with the pseudo-second-order and Langmuir isotherm models providing the best fit for the adsorption process.

Summary: This study successfully separated fractionated lignin (L2) with more hydroxyl and carboxyl groups from black liquor using a simple sequential acid precipitation method, and then prepared high-efficiency and low-cost fractionated lignin-based magnetic nanoparticles (L2-MNPs) adsorbent by introducing L2 onto the surface of magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles (MNPs). The experimental results showed that L2-MNPs had a high adsorption capacity for methylene blue (MB) dye in wastewater, making it an environmentally friendly, cost-effective, and recyclable adsorbent.

Summary: In this study, a renewable magnetic alginate composite containing graphene oxide (M-GO/Alg) was used to investigate the adsorption behavior of methylene blue (MB) and crystal violet (CV) in single and binary systems. The results showed that M-GO/Alg had high adsorption capacity for both dyes and exhibited no significant performance loss after multiple adsorption cycles. Additionally, M-GO/Alg could be easily separated under an external magnetic field, making it an eco-friendly and recyclable adsorbent for cationic dyes.

Summary: The excellent properties of micro-nano materials and structures have attracted extensive attention in wastewater treatment. In this study, magnetic multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MMWCNTs) were prepared and used for the sorptive removal of five typical cationic dyes from aqueous solutions. The effects of various factors on the adsorption process were investigated, and it was found that the kinetics processes could be well described by the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The results showed that the MMWCNTs had high adsorption capacities and could be regenerated for reuse.
