Summary: In recent years, the introduction of new X-ray detectors, such as photon-counting detectors (PCD) in diagnostic imaging equipment, has shown advantages in small pixel size, high dose efficiency, and energy-resolving capabilities. Studies have been conducted to explore the potential of PCD as an alternative to conventional CT for chest imaging.

Summary: Due to its high morbidity and mortality, rapid diagnosis of myocardial infarction is crucial. This report presents a complex case of acute coronary syndrome, where a triple-rule-out CT examination in DECT mode was able to detect anterior wall infarction. Prompt and appropriate treatment was then initiated, resulting in the patient's survival.

Summary: This study evaluated the application of black-blood CT in carotid artery wall imaging and confirmed its accuracy in diagnosing stenosis rate and plaque burden of carotid artery. Black-blood CT showed good consistency with CTA and VW-MR in identifying stenosis rate and plaque burden, providing clear visualization of the artery wall, especially for patients with contraindication to MRI.

Summary: Large thoracic defects require reconstruction to restore organ protection and ventilation. Early rigid implants stabilized the ribcage but had breathing restrictions. Additive manufacturing enables 3D custom-made thoracic implants, with novel designs showing promising short-term outcomes. Further biomechanical studies are needed to confirm mechanical behavior.

Summary: This study aimed to reveal the imaging features of COVID-19 in children. The main radiographic findings were unilateral or bilateral ground-glass opacities often associated with feeding vessel sign, halo sign, and pleural thickening, with no significant differences between age groups.

Summary: This study reviewed the surgical records of 30 patients with chest wall malignant tumors and found that chest wall reconstruction was associated with complications such as decreased pulmonary function, flail chest, and scoliosis. Therefore, new guidelines for chest wall reconstruction are needed to improve surgical outcomes.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the accuracy and reproducibility of three commercially available 3D imaging systems used for obtaining images of the anterior chest wall. The results showed that 3dMD and Artec Leo demonstrated comparable reproducibility and accuracy, while EinScan Pro 2X Plus was reproducible but lacked clinical accuracy.

Summary: A phantom study comparing high-resolution photon-counting detector computed tomography (PCD-CT) and energy-integrating detector (EID) CT was conducted to evaluate nodule volume and airway wall thickness quantification using low-dose chest CT. The results showed that USK PCD-CT provided more accurate lung nodule volume and airway wall thickness quantification at lower radiation dose compared with MK PCD-CT and EID-CT.
