Summary: This study demonstrates the induction of microRNA-132-3p (miR-132-3p) in ischemic acute kidney injury (AKI) and oxidative stress. miR-132-3p mimic increased apoptosis in renal tubular cells and enhanced ischemic AKI in mice, while miR-132-3p inhibition offered protective effects. The results suggest that miR-132-3p induction aggravates ischemic AKI and oxidative stress by repressing Sirt1 expression, and miR-132-3p inhibition offers renal protection and may be a potential therapeutic target.

Summary: This study discovered that miR-99b-5p, miR-380-3p, and miR-485-3p enhance the chemotherapeutic effects of doxorubicin in high-risk neuroblastoma. These miRNAs are often lost in patients and their low expression predicts poor survival outcomes.

Summary: Sal A, a water-soluble compound from Salvia miltiorrhiza, has hepatoprotective effects on APAP-induced liver injury by alleviating oxidative stress and inflammation through regulating the SIRT1 pathway. Additionally, Sal A can also regulate the miR-485-3p signaling pathway, which contributes to its protective effects against APAP-induced hepatotoxicity.

Summary: The study demonstrated that miR-200a-3p regulates cell proliferation and apoptosis of cardiomyocytes by targeting PEG3 through the SIRT1/NF-kappa B signaling pathway. This result may provide a potential clue for the treatment of DOX-induced cardiotoxicity.

Summary: In this study, the researchers investigated the role of the interaction between SIRT1 and SESN2 in DOX-induced cardiomyopathy. They found that SIRT1 deficiency aggravated cardiac damage, while the activation of SIRT1 had protective effects. Further studies revealed that SIRT1 reduced oxidative damage and apoptosis by attenuating the interaction between SESN2 and MDM2, thereby protecting the heart from DOX-induced toxicity.

Summary: This study aimed to assess whether the neuroprotective effect of AA relied on the efficient transfer of miRNAs via exosomes in the brain. The results showed that AA attenuated inflammation-mediated cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury by inhibiting astrocyte-derived exosomal miR-200a-3p/141-3p targeting the SIRT1 gene.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the therapeutic potential and underlying mechanisms of the co-treatment of resveratrol (RES) and fibroblast growth factor 1 (FGF1) in a doxorubicin (DOX)-treated model. The results showed that RES could reduce the growth-promoting activity of FGF1 and exhibited a more powerful antioxidative capacity in a DOX-treated model, with cardioprotective action mediated through the SIRT1/NRF2 pathway.

Summary: This study demonstrates that miR-200c restrains the proliferative and neuroendocrine-like activation of cholangiocytes by targeting SESN1 and inhibiting the IL-6/AKT feedback loop to protect against cholestatic liver fibrosis. Findings provide critical mechanistic insights into biliary liver fibrosis and suggest miR-200c may be a novel therapeutic target of cholangiopathies.

Summary: The study showed that astaxanthin significantly reduced oxidative stress and neuronal apoptosis after traumatic brain injury. Astaxanthin improved neurological functions through the SIRT1/Nrf2/Prx2/ASK1/p38 signaling pathway, suggesting it as a potential candidate for alleviating traumatic brain injury.
