Summary: This study demonstrates the preparation of novel fluorescent low molecular-weight organogelators derived from diphenyl ethers. The length of the alkoxy substituent was found to have an impact on the gelation performance and morphological properties of the self-assembled diphenyl ethers. The longer alkoxy substituents showed enhanced thermoreversible gelation activity and the supramolecular architectures formed exhibited highly ordered nanofeathers, nanofibers, and nanosheets.

Summary: A self-drug-delivery system against melanoma has been developed using metallogelators derived from coordination polymers. Amongst these metallogelators, CPG3 showed promising results in inhibiting melanoma cell growth by inducing apoptosis through mitochondrial membrane potential depolarization.

Summary: The photoinduced healing of organic-inorganic hybrids was achieved through reversible photodimerization of anthracene units covalently linked to silsesquioxane nanoparticles. Ultraviolet (UV) irradiation (365 nm) induced cross-linking of the photoresponsive SQ-NPs, while deep ultraviolet light (265 nm) induced monomerization and enabled the healing of surface scratches. The reversible dimerization/monomerization of the anthracene units on the SQ-NPs showed fast and efficient healing/response features under an air environment at room temperature, as confirmed by UV-vis and FT-IR measurements.

Summary: A series of fluorescent nanocomplexes of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC)/Terbium (Tb)- Europium (Eu) were successfully synthesized without introducing a second ligand. By adjusting the concentration of the coordinated ions, these nanocomplexes exhibit favorably visibly tunable luminescence properties with colors being able to change from green to red. XPS analysis demonstrates the formation of Tb(III)-O2- and Eu(III)-O2- between -OH and -COO- in CMC and Tb3+ or Eu3+ ions, which is advantage for light absorption by UV-Vis spectroscopy and fluorescence spectroscopy.

Summary: This study successfully synthesized two pairs of enantiomeric pinene-containing Pt(II) isocyanide complexes and demonstrated their ability to form chiral ordered self-assemblies in nonpolar solvents. Additionally, these complexes exhibited aggregation-induced emission enhancement behavior in specific solvents and showed tunable emission colors and aggregation states by controlling the solvent and temperature.

Summary: The luminescence behavior of rare earth Eu in phosphate BIP was investigated, and it was found that the concentration and occupation in the lattice, as well as the interaction with the host play important roles in the behavior. The presence of Eu2+ and Eu3+ emissions were observed in the PL and cathodoluminescence spectra. EPR analysis confirmed the reduction of Eu3+ to Eu2+ in the lattice. The change in the red/orange ratio of Eu3+ emission indicated the evolution of lattice occupation.

Summary: In this study, dual cross-linked self-healing polyurethane (PU-xUPy) was prepared and its properties were investigated. The material demonstrated excellent mechanical properties due to the covalent cross-linking via triol monomer and the noncovalent-linking via UPy. After 24 hours of healing at 40°C, the tensile strength and elongation at break of PU-75UPy were restored to 73% (7.0 MPa) and 72.7% (306.6%), respectively.

Summary: This study synthesized europium-ion doped CaLa4Si3O13 phosphors using a conventional high-temperature solid-state method and characterized them using X-ray powder diffraction patterns and photoluminescence spectra. The phosphors exhibited tunable luminescence due to the presence of Eu2+ and Eu3+ emissions. The emission wavelength of Eu2+ shifted towards longer wavelengths with increasing doping concentration.
