Summary: In this study, a novel DM9CP-5 protein was identified from the Pacific oyster and found to be highly expressed in the gill. The protein was able to bind various molecules and interact with CgIntegrin, and its activation was shown to regulate the release of proinflammatory factors and defensins through the MAPK pathway.

Summary: The DM9-containing protein CgDM9CP-7 plays an important role in the innate immune response of molluscs. It is constitutively expressed in various tissues and is up-regulated in haemocytes after stimulation by Vibrio splendidus and lipopolysaccharide (LPS). CgDM9CP-7 binds to various pathogens and exhibits antimicrobial activity, while also regulating the expression of CgMyD88 and CgIL-17.

Summary: This study reveals that MST4 acts as a negative regulator of type I interferon (IFN) production during viral immune responses. MST4 inhibits the production of type I IFN by competing with TRAF3 for binding to MAVS, thereby preventing the TRAF3/MAVS association. Additionally, MST4 promotes the degradation of MAVS through the interaction with the E3 ubiquitin ligase Smurf1 and the subsequent K48-linked ubiquitination of MAVS.

Summary: This study reveals that PTH signaling upregulates Notch pathway components, and Notch activation contributes to the catabolic actions of PTH in bone. Deleting the PTH receptor or overexpressing sclerostin in osteocytes abolishes the increase in Notch components caused by PTH. Moreover, bone-targeted Notch inhibition enhances the bone anabolic effects of intermittent PTH.

Summary: This study reveals that FLI1 regulates radiotherapy resistance in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) through the TIE1-mediated PI3K/AKT signaling pathway, suggesting that targeting the FLI1/TIE1 signaling pathway could be a potential therapeutic strategy to enhance the efficacy of radiotherapy in NPC.

Summary: In this study, Epinephelus coioides soluble TLR5 (TLR5S) was identified as a negative regulator of the NF-kappa B signaling pathway. TLR5S specifically responded to Vibrio flagellin and inhibited flagellin-induced activation of NF-kappa B signaling and cytokine expression. This discovery provides insights into the negative regulation of immune signaling and the restoration of homeostasis.

Summary: This study investigated the modulatory effect of COX-2 inhibition on the ADAM-17/EGFR/ERK1/2 axis. The results showed that COX-2 stimulates the ERK1/2 pathway via PGE2-ADAM-17-catalyzed shedding of TGF-alpha in testosterone-induced BPH, highlighting the functional correlation between inflammation and hyperplasia in BPH.

Summary: The study showed that DEX could effectively accelerate LPS-induced differentiation of CFs into myofibroblasts by activating alpha(2A)-AR and the PKC-p38-Smad2/3 signaling pathway. Moreover, TNF-alpha released from nonpassage CFs was significantly higher after LPS stimulation compared to passage CFs.
