In this work, the fabrication of Ag nanoparticles (NPs) decorated on MgO has been carried out. In this technique, Acalypha hispida extract has been employed as a renewable, mild reducing and stabilizer agent. The Ag/MgO nanocomposite formation was confirmed by different characterization methods. Afterwards, the catalytic activity of Ag/MgO nanocomposite was examined in NaBH4-assisted reduction of methylene blue (MB), 4-nitrophenol (4-NP), methyl orange (MO) and 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine (2,4-DNPH). The Ag/MgO system has advantages such as high catalytic performance, high stability and facile reusability.
