Summary: This systematic review examines the risk factors associated with bicycle and electric bike-related injuries in China. Four domains of risk factors were identified, including sociodemographic factors, riding behavior, vehicle and road factors, and temporal factors. The study suggests targeted interventions, such as enforcing helmet usage and establishing a data collection and safe-riding credit system, to reduce injuries.

Summary: The behavioral safety of e-bike and e-scooter riders is a significant concern in traffic safety. A study in Germany found that a percentage of riders were engaged in secondary tasks, had low use of additional safety equipment, and violated traffic rules. Targeted campaigns for specific rider groups may help reduce risky behaviors.

Summary: This study examines the key factors underlying large commercial truck crashes using telematics and in-vehicle monitoring features, and quantifies the effect of these factors on crash risk. The study finds that in-vehicle warning information significantly improves crash risk assessment, with yawn and smoking warnings having the most association with crash frequency.

Summary: This study investigates the potential of liquid hydrogen storage (LH2) on-board Class-8 heavy duty trucks as a solution to the issues associated with compressed H2 storage in composite tanks. Conceptual storage system configurations for supplying H2 to fuel cells are presented and structural aspects of storing LH2 in double walled, vacuum insulated tanks are studied. The failure modes of the tanks are analyzed and safety gaps identified. The results show that the conceptual systems can achieve high gravimetric and volumetric capacities with relatively low cost.

Summary: This study presents a novel method called Probabilistic RISk Measure derivation (PRISMA) for real-time calculation of specific event probabilities, such as crashes. The PRISMA method utilizes a data-driven approach to predict future traffic participant trajectories and reduces reliance on specific assumptions. Benchmarking results suggest that the derived surrogate safety measures (SSMs) align with expected risk trends.

Summary: With the rapid development of the online-to-offline market, there are a large number of delivery workers in China who primarily use electric bicycles. However, due to enforcement difficulties, these workers engage in non-riding-related tasks while riding, leading to distracted riding and posing a threat to traffic safety. This study investigates the social-psychological factors that contribute to the engagement in such tasks among delivery workers, as well as their awareness of regulations. The findings provide insights for designing countermeasures to reduce the prevalence of distracted riding among delivery workers.

Summary: Occupational health has changed the definition and understanding of work and the workplace in recent years, leading to a need for continuous improvement in safety and security. Despite debates about which hazards should be considered in order to achieve a truly healthy workplace, this research contributes to efforts by assessing established security risk factors and establishing necessary requirements for a safe and healthy workplace.

Summary: Control measures are necessary on dairy farms to minimize the risk of Mycoplasma bovis infection spread, which include identification and control of all possible risk factors associated with the infection. Implementing measures such as isolating calves and avoiding nose-to-nose contact can effectively reduce the risk of M. bovis infection according to the study findings.

Summary: The article discusses the issue of electric vehicles and infrastructure in EU road transport, indicating that the lack of charging stations may be a reason for slow growth in sales of electric vehicles. Additionally, a strong correlation is found between a country's GDP and the number of charging stations available.

Summary: The objective of this work was to determine the effect of visibility-related factors and some environmental and human factors on the severity of pedestrian-vehicle crashes. It was found that higher speed limits, less light conditions, and no traffic controls were significantly correlated with increased pedestrian injury severity. Dusk and dark with or without lighting were also factors correlated with increased pedestrian injury severity, while inclement weather was correlated with lower pedestrian injury severity.

Summary: Construction operations pose risks with thousands of accidents, injuries, and fatalities occurring annually. Safety risk assessment is crucial, and individuals' perceptions of hazards are influenced by sociodemographic factors. While sociodemographic factors can impact workers' safety risk assessment, quantitative analysis suggests that only education significantly influences it.

Summary: This study examines how design parameters of rural two-lane roads in Norway impact single motorcycle accidents. The research finds that horizontal alignment has a significant effect on these accidents, with segments containing multiple adjacent reverse curves showing high odds for accidents. Furthermore, not fulfilling requirements for adjacent curves leads to even higher odds. Wider lanes were associated with increased odds for accidents, while wider shoulders were linked to decreased odds, although these findings were not statistically significant. Comparing to a study on passenger vehicles, it is shown that horizontal alignment plays a greater role in single motorcycle accidents.

Summary: This study used video recordings to investigate encounters between automated shuttles approaching a T-intersection and other traffic participants. Various risks and behavioral patterns were identified, such as road users misusing the shuttles' defensive style and cyclists being unsure about the shuttles' intentions. Frequent hard stops by the shuttles could pose dangers to passengers and increase the risk of rear-end accidents.

Summary: Limited knowledge on cycling under the influence of alcohol (CUI) in Norway has necessitated a study to explore its prevalence, attitudes, and reasons for occurrence. Findings revealed that CUI is common in Norway, particularly among young male adults in large cities. Permissive attitudes towards low levels of alcohol influence increase the likelihood of individuals engaging in CUI, especially when influenced by friends.
