Summary: The decline of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) levels in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMMSCs) with age leads to cell senescence. However, increasing H2S levels can inhibit cell aging and prevent bone loss in vivo, providing new insights for stem cell therapies in elderly people.

Summary: This study investigates the anti-osteoporotic effects of an ethanol extract of FLL in ovariectomized mice and explores the underlying mechanism. The results show that FLL prevents bone loss and improves bone microstructure by modulating bone and fat balance, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic agent for postmenopausal osteoporosis.

Summary: Ischemic heart disease (IHD) is a major concern in healthcare due to its implications and complications. Stem cell migration to the cardiac muscle is a slow process, but SDF-1 alpha can increase stem cell involvement. Administering SDF-1 alpha-releasing microspheres after myocardial infarction can promote heart repair and increase the expression of factors involved in stem cell retention and tissue repair.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the therapeutic effect of combining canine bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (cBMSCs) with gelatin-nano-hydroxyapatite (Gel-nHAP) on bone defect diseases in dogs. The results showed that Gel-nHAP supported the attachment of cBMSCs and exhibited good biocompatibility. In animal experiments, significant cortical bone growth was observed in the Gel-nHAP group at week 8 and in the cBMSCs-Gel-nHAP group at week 4.

Summary: This study investigated the role and mechanism of action of miR-33a-5p in osteoporosis after ovariectomy. A postmenopausal osteoporosis model was established in rats, and bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells were transfected with miR-33a-5p mimics or inhibitors. The results showed that miR-33a-5p was negatively correlated with WNT10B, and inhibiting miR-33a-5p promoted osteogenic differentiation in vitro and bone formation in vivo. These findings suggest that miR-33a-5p may be a potential therapeutic target for osteoporosis.

Summary: The study found that miR-1228 is highly expressed in serum exosomes of gastric cancer patients, and up-regulation of miR-1228 can down-regulate MMP-14 expression, effectively hindering the development of gastric cancer.

Summary: A phosphoserine-loaded chitosan membrane was synthesized to improve the osteogenic effect of chitosan membranes. The incorporation of phosphoserine into chitosan membranes was confirmed and the phosphoserine-chitosan membranes significantly stimulated bone regeneration.

Summary: This study aimed to assemble biomimetic 3D BM microniches by co-culturing HSPCs and MSCs, and transplant them into the BM cavity for the treatment of h-ARS. The results showed that these BM microniches can prolong the maintenance of HSPCs, promote hematopoietic reconstitution, and alleviate death from acute lethal radiation. Furthermore, the Notch signaling pathway plays a significant role in maintaining HSPCs.

Summary: Although the proteomic profiles of osteoblasts and MSCs show many similarities, there are still several specific differences, including extracellular matrix proteins and intracellular signaling networks. Targeting these specific proteins therapeutically may have minor effects on MSCs, and careful standardization of ex vivo handling will be required for the clinical use of cultured osteoblasts/MSCs.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of intracoronary autologous bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (BM-MSC) transplantation in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Results showed that BM-MSC transplantation did not significantly promote the recovery of left ventricular function and myocardial viability after acute myocardial infarction.

Summary: This study evaluated the new bone formation potential of MBCP and Bio-Oss grafting materials with DPSCs and BMSCs in a rabbit calvarial bone defect model. The results demonstrated that autogenous bone is the gold standard, and both DPSCs and BMSCs enhanced the osteoconductive capacities of MBCP and Bio-Oss. Moreover, the efficiency of BMSCs combined with MBCP and Bio-Oss was comparable to that of autogenous bone after 8 weeks of healing.

Summary: The uterus is a homeostatic organ that responds to ovarian steroid hormones and prepares the endometrium for embryo implantation. Dysfunction in endometrial repair and regeneration can lead to infertility and abnormal menses. Mesenchymal stem cells have regenerative and immunomodulatory properties and have been investigated for therapeutic purposes in abnormal endometrium.
