A Novel Deceptive Jamming Approach for Hiding Actual Target and Generating False Targets

Shahid Mehmood, Aqdas Naveed Malik, Ijaz Manssor Qureshi, Muhammad Zafar Ullah Khan, Fawad Zaman

Summary: This study introduces a novel approach for deceptive jamming against frequency diverse array (FDA) radar, which involves intercepting opponent radar signals and transmitting back to place nulls in the radiation pattern to hide the actual target while generating multiple false targets. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through several simulation results for different numbers of ranges, directions, and antenna elements.

A high gain and compact transmitarray antenna for Ku-band satellite communications

Muhammad Naeem Iqbal, Mohd Fairus Mohd Yusoff, Mohammad Kamal A. Rahim, Mohamad Rijal Hamid, Zaharah Johari, Hamood Ur Rahman

Summary: This study focuses on designing a low-profile frequency selective surface transmitarray antenna at 12 GHz using a four-layer Split Ring Resonator structure. The parametric analysis shows a high transmission coefficient magnitude and phase range. X-band horn antenna is used as a feed source, and each FSS layer consists of 121 elements. The measured results demonstrate a wide impedance bandwidth, high gain value, and 1-dB bandwidth.

Complementary split-ring resonator and strip-gap based metamaterial fractal antenna with miniature size and enhanced bandwidth for 5G applications

Arshad Karimbu Vallappil, Mohamad Kamal A. Rahim, Bilal A. Khawaja, Muhammad Naeem Iqbal, Noor Asniza Murad, Mohamed Musthapa Gajibo, Levy O. Nur, Bambang S. Nugroho

Summary: This paper proposes two different types of metamaterial antennas for 5G mid-band frequency operation, based on a combined fractal structure on the radiating patch and MTM structures on the ground plane. The introduction of these structures not only enhances the overall bandwidth and gain of the antenna but also leads to antenna miniaturization. The proposed design shows a compactness improvement of 43% / 42% compared to conventional microstrip patch antennas.

A Beam-Split Metasurface Antenna for 5G Applications

Tamara Z. Fadhil, Noor Asniza Murad, Mohamad Kamal A. Rahim, M. R. Hamid, Levy Olivia Nur

Summary: This article presents a hybrid metasurface split beam antenna design for 5G applications, which achieves beam separation by manipulating the metasurface configuration. Experimental results show that the antenna resonates well at 3.5 GHz and successfully splits the radiation pattern into two beams. It is a suitable option for high-capacity and interference-prone 5G Pico base stations in urban or suburban areas.
