Summary: This study aims to analyze the trends in tigecycline prescription after safety warnings by FDA and EMA, as well as after the implementation of an ASP. The results show that tigecycline consumption decreased by 35.9% after the FDA warning and by 67.3% after ASP implementation. This indicates that ASP plays a crucial role in controlling the prescription of tigecycline.

Summary: This paper introduces a sequence to Gaussian Mixture Model (seq2GMM) framework, aiming to identify anomalous and interesting time series within a network time series database. By developing a surrogate-based optimization algorithm, the model exhibits strong performance on multiple public benchmark datasets, outperforming state-of-the-art anomaly detection techniques.

Summary: This study aims to explore challenges in recruitment and intervention implementation in recent stepped-wedge cluster randomized trials (SW-CRTs). The results show that approximately 33% of the trials faced recruitment challenges and 44% faced implementation challenges. Most trials with recruitment or implementation challenges made modifications to their design, primarily adjusting the trial duration.

Summary: The study found that the intervention did not increase the proportion of dialysis related tasks being performed by center-based patients, but there was an increase in home hemodialysis as well as an increase in tasks among patients who were doing fewer than 5 tasks at baseline. Further studies are needed to explore interventions to engage center-based dialysis patients in their own care.

Summary: This study discussed and examined the analytical methods for stepped-wedge cluster randomized trials. Through fitting multiple statistical models and examining raw data, the results of the pre-specified analysis were confirmed, and an analytical approach that adjusts for differences in patient populations was proposed for similar designs of stepped-wedge trials.

Summary: The introduction of generic antimicrobials may lead to an increase in consumption of broad-spectrum molecules and a potential rise in resistance, which could dilute the economic benefits of generic antibiotics. Antimicrobial stewardship should continue to monitor these molecules despite generic entry.

Summary: Enhanced terminal room cleaning with UV-C disinfection is associated with a lower incidence rate of hospital-onset gram-negative rod bloodstream infection, although the effectiveness varies among hospitals. Further research is needed to identify the optimal implementation strategy.

Summary: Through a trial integrating PrEP delivery in public HIV care clinics in Kenya, high uptake, reasonable continuation with high adherence, frequent PrEP restarts, and low HIV incidence were observed, demonstrating the feasibility of integrating PrEP services within public HIV care clinics in Africa.

Summary: This study aims to compare the effectiveness of user-centred and standard strategies for implementing TB contact investigation in Uganda. The study uses a stepped-wedge, cluster-randomised design and includes several client-focused and healthcare-worker-focused components. Implementation and effectiveness will be evaluated through routine source documents, and cost-effectiveness and impact modelling will also be conducted. The results will be published in peer-reviewed journals and disseminated to local policymakers and affected communities.

Summary: This study evaluated the effectiveness of three cancer pain guideline implementation strategies on improving pain outcomes for patients in oncology and palliative care outpatient services. The results showed that these strategies had limited impact on pain-related outcomes and further evaluation and improvement are needed.

Summary: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a theory-driven exercise intervention for frail older adults in Chinese communities and clarify its underlying mechanisms. The study will be conducted through a stepped-wedge cluster-randomized trial in six communities in a county in central China. The exercise intervention will be based on the integration of the Health Belief Model and the Theory of Planned Behaviour. The study is expected to provide an effective and practical mode for exercise interventions among frail older adults and contribute to existing evidence in this field.

Summary: The objective of this study was to test whether providing relevant clinical trial registry information to peer reviewers would decrease discrepancies between registered and published trial outcomes. The results showed that the tested intervention did not increase agreement between prospectively registered and published trial outcomes. Therefore, other approaches are needed to improve the quality of outcome reporting in clinical trials.
