Summary: This study explores the views of medical students on substance misuse education. The findings indicate that students perceive substance misuse education as underperforming in their curriculum, with limited teaching hours and issues in curriculum design and organization. Students emphasize the need for a new curriculum to prepare them for their future clinical work and personal lives. The study also highlights unique barriers to curriculum change, including lack of openness due to the impacts of disclosure in substance misuse. Therefore, medical faculties should incorporate student perspectives and work with them to facilitate curriculum changes in substance misuse education.

Summary: Machine learning has the potential to improve patient care and outcomes, but there are important differences between evaluating models in silico and their usefulness in real-world care. We propose a metric for assessing the actionability of models, which should be used before evaluating calibration and calculating net benefit. This metric is part of a broader effort to identify the clinical impacts of models.
