Summary: This study investigates the effect of hsa_circ_0070512 on the function and mechanism of prostate cancer (PCa). Hsa_circ_0070512 was found to be increased in PCa tissues and cells, predominantly located in the cytoplasm of PCa cells. Overexpression of hsa_circ_0070512 significantly increased PCa cell proliferation and migration, while silencing it decreased these processes. Mechanistically, hsa_circ_0070512 acts as a sponge for miR-338-3p, and its regulation of the hedgehog signaling pathways through miR-338-3p enhances PCa growth and migration.

Summary: This study found that miRNA-338-3p suppresses glioma cell proliferation and migration, and promotes apoptosis by inhibiting the expression of MYT1L gene. The miRNA-338-3p/MYT1L axis may play a critical role in glioma progression and could be a potential therapeutic target.

Summary: The study investigated the role of circRNAs in the development of thyroid carcinoma (TC). It was found that circ_0003747 was highly expressed in TC cells and its knockdown inhibited TC cell viability, proliferation, migration, and invasion while promoting apoptosis. Circ_0003747 negatively regulated miR-338-3p expression, which in turn interacted with PLCD3 to suppress its expression. Overexpression of miR-338-3p inhibited TC cell progression, and PLCD3 reversed these effects.

Summary: Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic interstitial lung disease with a significant genetic component. miR-338-3p, severely downregulated in patients with pulmonary fibrosis, inhibits myofibroblast differentiation and plays a key role in regulating the behavior of fibroblasts.

Summary: This study investigated the role of circRNA in thyroid carcinoma and identified circGLIS3 as a novel tumor suppressor in thyroid cancer. CircGLIS3 was found to inhibit the migration and invasion of thyroid carcinoma cells and suppress the progression of thyroid cancer by upregulating the expression of the AIF1L gene through acting as a miR-146b-3p sponge.

Summary: miRNA-338-3p regulates cancer growth and migration, potentially affecting cancer cell response to chemotherapy and radiotherapy. It seems to have a dual role in cancer chemotherapy as both a tumor-promoting and tumor-suppressing factor. Experiments indicate its anti-tumor activity in cancer, highlighting the importance of increasing miRNA-338-3p expression for effective cancer therapy.

Summary: This study established a method to enhance nerve regeneration by sequentially regulating the biological functions of endogenous Schwann cells (SCs). Injecting miR-221 and miR-338 through nerve conduits effectively improved the repair of damaged nerves. The findings suggest that this approach has potential for the clinical treatment of peripheral nerve injury.

Summary: This study identified differentially expressed colonic mucosal miRNAs in patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) compared to healthy controls (HCs), with miR-219a-5p and miR-338-3p being highlighted as potential therapeutic targets due to their involvement in barrier function and visceral hypersensitivity via neuronal and MAPK signaling pathways. Inhibition of these miRNAs led to altered expression of proteasome/barrier function genes and mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway genes, affecting intestinal permeability and sensitivity.

Summary: This study aims to identify potential diagnostic markers and therapeutic targets related to the progression of coronary heart disease. Through bioinformatics methods and experiments, we identified 5 core miRNA-mRNA regulatory pairs, with miR-338-3p/RPS23 selected for further functional analysis. The results suggest that miR-338-3p/RPS23 may be involved in the progression of coronary heart disease, and miR-338-3p may serve as a diagnostic biomarker and therapeutic target for this condition.

Summary: The study identified a novel interactome circ_0001018/miR-338-3p/SOX4 in papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) and demonstrated that circ_0001018 acts as a tumor promoter by sponging miR-338-3p to elevate SOX4 expression level in PTC, promoting cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. These findings suggest that this interaction axis may be a potential therapeutic target for PTC.

Summary: The aim of this study was to assess the differential expression of 9 selected miRNAs related to immunological functions between patients with Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) and healthy controls. The results showed that miR21-5p, miR-22-3p, miR-22-5p, miR-142-3p, miR-146a-5p, miR-301-3p, and miR-451 were significantly upregulated in HT patients and altered expressions of miR-22-5p and miR-142-3p were associated with higher levels of thyroid antibodies.

Summary: The study explored the expressions of lncRNA PURPL in different ovarian tissues and evaluated its significance in EOC. Results showed that upregulation of PURPL and downregulation of miR-338-3p were related to poor prognosis in ovarian cancer. High levels of PURPL and low levels of miR-338-3p expressions were associated with worse RFS and OS in patients.
