Summary: This study investigated the effect of cutting path on acoustic emission and vibration signals during micro milling processes and proposed a simple linear classifier for tool wear monitoring. The results showed that signal features generated from different cutting paths are distinct, and increasing signal length and reducing bandwidth size can improve system performance. However, avoiding complex cutting paths might be a better strategy for developing a micro milling tool wear monitoring system.

Summary: This paper describes the essence and optimization objectives of the hull parts path optimization problem in CNC laser cutting, and identifies the shortcomings of existing optimization methods. It proposes a new cutting constraint rule based on partial cutting to overcome the drawbacks of traditional algorithms. The paper presents a novel toolpath model based on partial cutting rules for hull parts cutting path optimization and proposes a segmented genetic algorithm based on reinforcement learning to solve the problem. The results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms other algorithms and effectively solves the hull parts path optimization problem for CNC laser cutting.

Summary: This paper proposes an algorithm for transferring process information in laser cutting. The algorithm passes information through the points in the cutting paths by determining whether they are included in closed contours. A fast approach is also proposed to simplify the computation work. The feasibility and computational efficiency of the algorithm are verified through examples, and its superiority is demonstrated by comparing the cutting details of machined parts.

Summary: This paper investigates the intelligent adaptive cutting technology of the shearer, proposing a calculation method that can actively adapt to coal seam variations. By optimizing the advance path using multitree and depth-first search algorithms, and considering the optimal cutting path at different positions of the working face, a solution is provided for the intelligent planning of cutting and pitch steering of the shearers.

Summary: This paper introduces warm laser shock sheet micro-forging, which investigates the influence of AZ31B magnesium alloy on laser energy and forming temperature. The results reveal the mechanism of improved properties at warm temperature compared to room temperature, including micro-structure, stress wave transmission, and material flow. The study shows that increasing laser energy and temperature can enhance the forming depth of the workpiece, although serious ablation occurs at high temperatures, affecting the forming quality. Laser shock forming refines the grain and improves microhardness, indicating that it can enhance the mechanical properties of materials.

Summary: The difficulties in mechanical micro-machining, such as tool deflection, size effect, and tool wear, are more significant compared to mechanical macro-machining. However, mechanical micro-machining plays a crucial role in manufacturing complex micro-parts with high accuracy. Laser-Assisted Machining (LAM) shows promise in reducing cutting forces and increasing material removal rate (MRR) for difficult-to-cut materials. A model has been developed to examine how the structuring of parts before micro-milling affects uncut chip thickness. The results demonstrate that structured parts lead to reduced uncut chip thickness, with structure density being the most critical parameter.

Summary: This paper focuses on developing a prediction model for cutting forces in micro-grinding, which takes into account factors such as the probabilistic distribution of undeformed chip thickness, the effect of dressing parameters, and tool deflection. The model successfully predicts cutting forces with an experimental mean accuracy of 10% for tangential forces and 30% for normal forces.

Summary: The study found that cutting path error has little impact on the surface quality of glass nanosecond laser cutting, while the type of laser path can have a negative effect on the kerf width. Different shapes of fillets appear due to the transitions in the inner and outer sides of two helixes, and textures with heights under 30μm are more likely to occur.
