Summary: The study found that macrophages exhibited chemotaxis towards BCC while BCC required direct contact to interact with macrophage-derived EGF. The interaction between breast cancer cells and macrophages is proposed to be a paracrine-juxtacrine loop involving CSF-1 and EGF, respectively.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the proteomic profile of serum exosomes from epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) patients and identify potential diagnostic markers for EOC. The researchers found that serum exosomes from EOC patients contributed to the migration of EOC cells and the level of exosomal LRPI was significantly upregulated in EOC patients, serving as an important diagnostic and prognostic biomarker for EOC.

Summary: Ovarian cancer-associated mesothelial cells play a critical role in promoting chemoresistance and stemness in ovarian cancer. The secreted factor osteopontin drives mesothelial-mediated chemoresistance and stemness, and therapeutic targeting of osteopontin may enhance platinum sensitivity in ovarian cancer.

Summary: This study utilizes single-cell RNA sequencing to investigate the development and origin of relapse cells in epithelial ovarian cancers (EOCs). The researchers identified seven distinct subpopulations in primary tumors, with the CYR61(+) stress subpopulation being identified as the relapse-initiators. They also discovered a subpopulation of RGS5(+) cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) that strongly support tumor metastasis. Furthermore, the combined expression scores of CYR61/RGS5 were found to be significantly correlated with the relapse-free-survival of EOC patients and can be used as predictors of EOC recurrence.

Summary: In pancreatic cancer patients, high levels of the cytokine IL-6 were found in the blood serum, while pancreatic cancer cells themselves exhibited low expression of IL-6. The study uncovered the key role of the Jagged/Notch/IL-6/STAT3 positive feedback loop in the development of a hypercoagulable state in pancreatic cancer.

Summary: The study revealed that lnc-TCF7 regulates multiple oncogenic pathways in epithelial ovarian cancer by upregulating ITGB8, promoting cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and stemness. Additionally, high expression of lnc-TCF7 is associated with higher pathological grade, larger tumor size, advanced FIGO stage, and poorer overall survival in EOC patients.

Summary: The upregulation of MSI2 in NSCLC tissues and CAFs is associated with poor prognosis and high metastatic risk. Depletion of MSI2 in CAFs strongly inhibits NSCLC cell migration and invasion in vitro, and attenuates local and distant metastatic spread of NSCLC cells in vivo. The crosstalk between CAFs and NSCLC cells occurs via paracrine signaling mediated by IL-6, which is regulated by MSI2 in CAFs.

Summary: Ovarian cancer is a growing global disease, and there is an urgent need for chemotherapy and targeted therapy. SLFN5 plays an important role in malignancy, but its specific function in ovarian cancer cells is still unclear. This study suggests that SLFN5 expression is related to the progression and malignancy of ovarian cancer, and its silencing has a significant inhibitory effect on the invasion and metastasis ability of ovarian cancer cells. Therefore, SLFN5 may serve as a potential target for future drug development in the treatment of ovarian cancer.
