Summary: This study investigates the effect of hsa_circ_0070512 on the function and mechanism of prostate cancer (PCa). Hsa_circ_0070512 was found to be increased in PCa tissues and cells, predominantly located in the cytoplasm of PCa cells. Overexpression of hsa_circ_0070512 significantly increased PCa cell proliferation and migration, while silencing it decreased these processes. Mechanistically, hsa_circ_0070512 acts as a sponge for miR-338-3p, and its regulation of the hedgehog signaling pathways through miR-338-3p enhances PCa growth and migration.

Summary: NK cells are crucial for the innate immune response against cancer cells, but their tumor-suppressive ability is often impaired in certain types of cancer. It has been found that estrogen negatively regulates miR-338-3p expression in breast cancer cells, leading to an upregulation of ADAM17. This impairs the activity of NK cells and promotes the viability of breast cancer cells. These findings may provide potential targets for the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.

Summary: This study found that miRNA-338-3p suppresses glioma cell proliferation and migration, and promotes apoptosis by inhibiting the expression of MYT1L gene. The miRNA-338-3p/MYT1L axis may play a critical role in glioma progression and could be a potential therapeutic target.

Summary: Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic interstitial lung disease with a significant genetic component. miR-338-3p, severely downregulated in patients with pulmonary fibrosis, inhibits myofibroblast differentiation and plays a key role in regulating the behavior of fibroblasts.

Summary: Study findings indicate that miRNA-222-3p is downregulated in MPCa with moderate diagnostic potential. Through target gene screening and functional enrichment analysis, it is suggested that miRNA-222-3p may play an important role in MPCa by negatively regulating SNAP91.

Summary: miR-31-3p is expressed at lower levels in prostate cancer tissues compared to adjacent normal tissues, and it plays a tumor-suppressive role by inducing apoptosis and decreasing cell proliferation, migration, invasiveness. GABBR2 is identified as a direct target of miR-31-3p.

Summary: miRNA-338-3p regulates cancer growth and migration, potentially affecting cancer cell response to chemotherapy and radiotherapy. It seems to have a dual role in cancer chemotherapy as both a tumor-promoting and tumor-suppressing factor. Experiments indicate its anti-tumor activity in cancer, highlighting the importance of increasing miRNA-338-3p expression for effective cancer therapy.

Summary: This study aimed to elucidate the mechanism of circular RNA HIPK3 (circHIPK3) in sepsis-induced acute kidney injury (AKI). The results showed that circHIPK3 expression was enhanced in septic AKI patients and LPS-triggered HK2 cells. Further research revealed that circHIPK3 aggravated cell injury in LPS-treated HK2 via targeting miR-338 and regulating FOXA1 expression. circHIPK3 may serve as a potential biomarker and therapeutic target for sepsis-induced AKI patients.

Summary: This study established a method to enhance nerve regeneration by sequentially regulating the biological functions of endogenous Schwann cells (SCs). Injecting miR-221 and miR-338 through nerve conduits effectively improved the repair of damaged nerves. The findings suggest that this approach has potential for the clinical treatment of peripheral nerve injury.

Summary: It has been found that circKDM4A is abnormally expressed in serum exosomes of prostate cancer patients. Treatment with exosomes promotes proliferation, migration, and invasion of prostate cancer cells while inhibiting apoptosis, and these effects are attenuated after circKDM4A knockdown. Moreover, circKDM4A acts as a sponge for miR-338-3p and interacts with CUL4B in prostate cancer cells. CircKDM4A regulates the effect of exosome-induced malignancy in prostate cancer cells by interacting with miR-338-3p and CUL4B.
