Summary: This study visualized and characterized the three-dimensional distribution of thoracodorsal artery perforators (TDAPs) using photoacoustic imaging. The results showed that the visualization of TDAPs varied depending on the thickness of the subcutaneous layer, and a thin deep fascia of the latissimus dorsi (LD) might cause deep laser penetration.

Summary: With the increasing demand for lower eyelid reconstruction in elderly patients, a new surgical technique using a transverse facial artery perforator flap is presented. This technique achieves good functional and aesthetic outcomes with low risk and minimal invasion. The use of the flap for lower eyelid reconstruction in elderly patients has shown no significant differences in complications and outcomes based on anesthesia type.

Summary: This study describes and analyzes the characteristics, location, and frequency of transverse acetabular fracture lines using fracture mapping and quantitative measurements. The results show that the fracture lines of transverse fractures are mainly located on the anterior and posterior rims of the acetabulum, and the intra-articular fracture lines are concentrated on the superior and middle thirds of the joint surface.

Summary: The study evaluated the three-dimensional changes in lip asymmetry before and after two-jaw surgery for 22 patients with facial asymmetry. The results showed that the improvement in lip asymmetry post-surgery was mainly achieved by the movement of the lower lip and Ch-D rather than the upper lip and Ch-ND.

Summary: This work focuses on characterizing the morphology and pathologies of patient-specific muscle-skeletal districts to support diagnostic activities and follow-up exams. Different methods are proposed to integrate morphological information from 3D surface models with tissue information from volume images. The approach allows for qualitative and quantitative validation of bone erosion sites and the identification of osteoporotic fractures, supporting surgery planning and early diagnosis.

Summary: This study investigates the diffusion of particles in a two-dimensional channel with varying width, and explores the ratchet effect in the system. By using the projection technique, the generalized Fick-Jacobs equation describing the dynamics of the system in the longitudinal coordinate is derived, along with the calculation of the additional effective potential. The research findings indicate that random driving in the transverse direction is more effective than in the longitudinal direction, especially with rapidly changing force orientations. Additionally, the transverse and longitudinal driving forces push the rectified current in opposite directions along the same channel.

Summary: The study comprehensively investigated the flow dynamics of a two-dimensional liquid sheet injected into a subsonic airstream, revealing a newly found inflated sheet structure. Different regimes of liquid sheet flows were categorized and a flow mapping was suggested to identify transitions between regimes. Results showed that the trajectory and height of the liquid sheet were directly influenced by the development stages of the inflated sheet.

Summary: By using multiple scattering theory, it was shown that the generally accepted expression of transverse resistivity in magnetic systems hosting skyrmions needs to be amended by an additional term, the noncollinear Hall effect (NHE). The angular form of the NHE is determined by the magnetic texture, the spin-orbit field of the electrons, and the underlying crystal structure, and its magnitude is proportional to the strength of the spin-orbit interaction. The NHE is essential for decoding two- and three-dimensional spin textures from transport experiments.

Summary: By measuring 100 real three-dimensional pelvic models of healthy adults, we obtained the parameters of each modified sacroiliac screw and measured the three angles of each screw based on international coordinates for the first time. There were significant differences in some parameters between genders, and special attention should be paid to the radius of M4SI.

Summary: We clarify the relationship between various two-dimensional melting pathways and establish criteria for solid-hexatic and hexatic-liquid transitions through numerical simulations. We demonstrate that the melting pathway of a mixture can differ from its components and identify eutectic mixtures that crystallize at higher densities than their pure components. By comparing the melting scenarios of multiple two-component and three-component mixtures, we establish universal melting criteria: the solid and hexatic phases become unstable when the densities of topological defects exceed pd,s & SIME; 0.046 and pd,h & SIME; 0.123, respectively.

Summary: The study investigates a supercharged cold eddy with strong temperature anomaly in the Kuroshio Extension region. The three-dimensional structure of the eddy is continuously observed for 83 days, showing stable characteristics in terms of radius, depth and speed. The analysis reveals that the eddy energy mainly originates from the Kuroshio and is enhanced by baroclinic and barotropic conversion.

Summary: Intraoperative imaging, particularly using CBCT, is increasingly used in maxillofacial surgery, primarily for maxillofacial trauma cases. The main advantage of intraoperative CBCT is the immediate, fast, and easy evaluation of bone repositioning to avoid the need for further surgical revision. Despite comparable imaging quality to traditional multi slice CT, the lower radiation exposure of CBCT is a benefit. However, the limited availability of CBCT in maxillofacial centers may be due to cost and lack of awareness regarding its advantages and versatility.
