Summary: The study found that whole-food diets have a positive impact on chronic pain, with various types of whole-food diets showing potential in reducing pain. Common factors such as diet quality, nutrient density, and weight control may all play a role in modulating pain physiology. Further research is needed to explore how diet can affect physiological mechanisms related to pain.

Summary: The use of nutraceutical products for male sexual enhancement, especially in treating erectile dysfunction, has a long history. Alternative treatments for erectile dysfunction are gaining popularity, with increasing interest from consumers and higher revenue for manufacturers. Dietary supplements, which are a combination of active ingredients, are mainly sold online. However, studies have not provided sufficient evidence to consider these products as a first-line therapy, raising doubts about their real effectiveness. A systematic review of the literature identified some nutraceuticals, such as Panax ginseng, Tribulus terrestris, and L-arginine, that can improve male sexual function.

Summary: A systematic review of dietary supplements for male infertility in Italy revealed that many supplements on the market contain a blend of ingredients with negligible doses or without any evidence of efficacy. However, some ingredients have been shown to be effective on specific sperm parameters. This study can assist in selecting supplements that are more likely to be effective on specific sperm alterations.

Summary: This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the effect of combining pain neuroscience education (PNE) with exercise therapy for chronic musculoskeletal pain. The findings suggest that combining PNE and exercise leads to greater short-term improvements in pain, disability, kinesiophobia, and pain catastrophizing compared to exercise alone.

Summary: This systematic review aimed to determine the prevalence of musculoskeletal pain in wheelchair users attributable to wheelchair use, identify different pain syndromes, and discuss risk factors and management options. The pooled prevalence of musculoskeletal pain was 50%, with shoulder pain being the most common syndrome. Older age and longer duration of wheelchair use were significant determinants of pain in wheelchair users. Management of pain should adhere to national and international guidelines, with optimal seating adjustment being important for preventing pain.

Summary: This study evaluated self-assessment tools used in the military and found that most scales showed good reliability and predictive validity. Scores measuring positive characteristics were associated with lower odds of military non-readiness, while scores measuring negative characteristics were associated with increased odds of non-readiness. The study suggests the potential use of self-report data for command surveillance, but emphasizes the importance of quality checks after deployment.

Summary: Mitochondrial fission is essential for maintaining metabolic homeostasis and its dysregulation is associated with metabolic diseases. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) play a critical role in the development of these conditions, acting both as producers and targets in mitochondria. This review discusses the roles of mitochondrial fission, its regulation by Drp1, and the interplay between ROS and mitochondria in health and metabolic diseases. It also explores potential therapeutic strategies targeting mitochondrial fission through antioxidant treatments, lifestyle interventions, dietary supplements, and drugs for metabolic diseases.
