Summary: In this work, Bi2WO6/Zn-Al LDH heterostructures were successfully fabricated as highly effective photocatalysts using a facile two-step mechanochemical method. The composites showed greatly enhanced photocatalytic capacity compared to pristine Bi2WO6 and LDH. The energy band structure and transfer route for photogenerated charge carriers were discussed, providing insights into the reaction mechanism for the photocatalysis process.

Summary: A 3D microspherical Ag2CO3/BiOI/BiOCl heterojunction photocatalyst was successfully prepared by one-pot coprecipitation method. The composite photocatalysts were characterized by XRD, FTIR, SEM, TEM, UV-Vis DRS, N2 adsorption-desorption, XPS, ESR, and PL. The optimized 3% Ag2CO3-BiOI/BiOCl system showed more than 98% removal efficiency of Hg0 from simulated flue gas within 60 min. The photocatalyst had good acid, alkali, and NO resistance, but was significantly inhibited by SO2. The specific surface area of the Ag2CO3/BiOI/BiOCl photocatalyst was much higher than that of a single component, and the Hg0 removal efficiency remained around 94% even after six cycles.

Ag3PO4/Bi2WO6 displays higher activity in degrading dyes compared to pure Bi2WO6 or Ag3PO4 alone. DFT calculation explains the photostability of Ag3PO4/Bi2WO6 from the perspective of electronic structure.

Summary: A novel Ag-Ag2CO3/Bi2Sn2O7 p-n heterojunction photocatalyst was successfully prepared by the in-situ precipitation method with different Ag/Bi2Sn2O7 ratios, showing enhanced photocatalytic performance. The 15% Ag-Ag2CO3/Bi2Sn2O7 exhibited the best photocatalytic activity among the photocatalysts, with 7.88 and 3.24 times higher activity compared to Bi2Sn2O7 and 15% Ag2CO3/Bi2Sn2O7, respectively.

Summary: In this article, a ternary heterojunction composite of BiVO4/Bi2WO6/WO3 with cascade energy band alignment was proposed and prepared. The ternary composite showed a broader absorption spectrum and enhanced electron-hole separation and charge carrier transfer. The optimal molar ratio of BiVO4:Bi2WO6:WO3 was found to be 0.375:0.375:0.25, displaying the best photocatalytic activity with a 50.9% greater degradation rate for methylene blue.

Summary: A Bi2WO6/BiVO4 composite photocatalytic material was synthesized and effectively degraded oxytetracycline (OTC) and tetracycline (TC) under visible light. The compositions, structures, chemical states, and optoelectronic properties of Bi2WO6, BiVO4, and Bi2WO6/BiVO4 composites were characterized. The existence of the heterojunction interface facilitates the separation of photogenerated carriers. The degradation efficiency of OTC and TC was significantly improved by the Bi2WO6/BiVO4 composite material.

Summary: Bi2WxMo1-xO6 solid solutions and Bi2WO6/g-C3N4 composites were synthesized and characterized, and different modulation techniques were compared for the decomposition of organic pollutants under visible light. The doping strategy showed attractiveness with the highest efficiency achieved by Bi2W0.5Mo0.5O6 in the degradation of methylene blue (conversion of 52.9%, TON = 0.022). Excellent results were obtained with small amounts of H2O2 in the photodegradation of methylene blue (conversion of 97.9%, TON = 0.040) and phenol (conversion of 81.2%, TON = 0.056).

Summary: Researchers found that Bi2WO6 could be used as a modifier to enhance the visible light response of ZnS photocatalyst. A flower-like Bi2WO6 was synthesized and a Bi2WO6/ZnS heterojunction was constructed. The modified ZnS showed improved visible light absorption and inhibited recombination of photogenerated electrons and holes. The degradation rates of MB and Rh.B by 20%xt-Bi2WO6/ZnS reached as high as 94.3% and 92.8%, respectively.

Summary: The visible light-driven Ag2CO3/g-C3N4 nanocomposite photocatalysts, with Ag2CO3 nanoparticles anchored on g-C3N4 nanosheets, showed excellent photocatalytic activity in degrading methyl orange and methylene blue. The nanocomposite with 60 wt% Ag2CO3 exhibited the best performance, achieving up to 93.9% degradation of MO and 62.8% degradation of MB under visible light irradiation. The enhanced photocatalytic performance can be attributed to the small size and uniform dispersion of Ag2CO3 nanoparticles, as well as the synergistic effect between Ag2CO3 and g-C3N4, leading to improved visible light response and enhanced charge carrier separation.

Summary: This study investigates the photocatalytic activity of magnetic CoFe2O4/g-C3N4/ZnO (CF-gCN/ZnO) nanocomposite as a visible-light photocatalyst. The heterojunction CF-gCN/ZnO photocatalyst achieved a photodegradation efficiency of 89% for degradation of methylene blue (MB) after 100 min of irradiation. The formation of heterojunction structures at the interface of g-C3N4 and ZnO leads to improved photocatalytic activity due to the separation of the photo-generated electron-hole pairs.

Summary: Mn-doped ZnO samples were successfully synthesized using sonochemical method, with XRD showing peak shifts due to Mn2+ incorporation. SEM and TEM observations revealed morphological changes in Zn1-xMnxO at different doping concentrations. The highest saturation magnetization was observed in 3 mol% Mn-doped ZnO, while 5 mol% Mn-doped ZnO exhibited suppressed ferromagnetic properties due to Mn cluster formation.
