Summary: This study evaluated the use of ICG compared with blue dye as a tracer for sentinel lymph node biopsy in women with early breast cancer. The results demonstrate that ICG is an effective tracer with a detection rate similar to other conventional tracers, and it is associated with easy learning and low cost.

Summary: The translation compares the efficacy of [Tc-99m]Tc-tilmanocept with [Tc-99m]Tc-nanocolloid for sentinel lymph node detection in early-stage oral squamous cell carcinoma patients. While [Tc-99m]Tc-tilmanocept had lower injection site clearance and uptake in the SLN compared to [Tc-99m]Tc-nanocolloid, the SLN to injection site ratio was not significantly different. This suggests that the relatively lower radioactive uptake in SLNs of [Tc-99m]Tc-tilmanocept may limit intraoperative detection but can be addressed by increasing the injection dose.

Summary: This study aimed to demonstrate the long-term survival results of fluorescence-guided sentinel lymph node biopsy for breast cancer. The study showed favorable prognostic results and indicated that fluorescence-guided biopsy could be an alternative to radioisotope for clinically node-negative breast cancer.

Summary: The study demonstrates that indocyanine green can be as effective as the radioisotope for SLNB in early breast cancer patients, even among those who have undergone NACT. This offers a potential alternative to overcome the limitations associated with radioactive Technetium(99m) colloid, such as limited availability, high costs, and radioactivity exposure.

Summary: This study retrospectively analyzed the clinicopathological data of patients with early breast cancer treated at Peking University First Hospital between 2013 and 2018, finding that methylene blue as the commonly used tracer in sentinel lymph node biopsy in China has acceptable identification rate and low false-negative rate, while patients with non-SLN metastasis have poor prognosis.

Summary: This study investigated the feasibility of using ICG-NIR technique for SLN mapping in cases of small unifocal tumors. It was found that compared to traditional 99mTc-nanocolloid and blue dye, ICG-NIR technique had better detection of SLN. Additionally, ICG-NIR technique also showed advantages in reducing side effects.

Summary: The combination of ICG and Tc99m-FSC can improve the bilateral sentinel lymph node detection rate in endometrial cancer patients. However, in cases of unilateral mapping failure, relying solely on the anatomic location of the ipsilateral SLN for predicting the location of the complementary node is not reliable due to poor symmetric concordance.

Summary: The objective of this study was to examine the feasibility and success rate of intraoperative injection of radiotracer and blue dye performed by the surgeon without the use of preoperative lymphoscintigraphy for the detection of sentinel lymph nodes in clinically early stage vulvar cancer. Intraoperative injection of radioactive tracer and dye for sentinel lymph node biopsy was successful in 86.5% of cases. This high success rate supports the use of intraoperative radiotracer and blue dye injection by trained providers.

Summary: This retrospective multicentric study compared laparoendoscopic single-site surgery (LESS) and mini-laparoscopic surgery (Mini-LPS) in terms of surgical time, postoperative pain, and hospital stay for patients undergoing simple hysterectomy for a benign condition. The results showed shorter surgical time and hospital stay in the Mini-LPS group compared to the LESS group. However, the Mini-LPS group had a higher rate of conversion to standard laparoscopy due to instrumentation flaws. Both ultra-minimally invasive techniques were found to be safe for performing hysterectomy for a benign condition.

Summary: This study investigated surgical outcomes and complications of hysterectomy for benign conditions in elderly patients and found that the abdominal route of hysterectomy was the main factor contributing to prolonged hospitalization. Minimally invasive surgery (MIS) was associated with shorter hospital stays. Additionally, abdominal hysterectomy and longer operative times were independent predictors of prolonged hospitalization.

Summary: The study aimed to compare the effectiveness of indocyanine green (ICG) as a single tracer versus Technetium99 + ICG for bilateral sentinel lymph node detection in endometrial cancer. The results showed that ICG as a single tracer achieved higher rates of bilateral detection, and the oncological outcomes were not affected by the type of tracer used.

Summary: This retrospective study analyzed 683 patients with uterine sarcoma to identify and evaluate the impact of different prognostic factors on overall survival and disease-free survival. The results showed variations in 5-year overall survival and disease-free survival rates among different subtypes of uterine sarcoma. The presence of residual disease after surgery was identified as the most significant factor affecting overall survival.

Summary: Uterine carcinosarcoma is a rare disease that accounts for less than 5% of uterine malignancies but contributes to approximately 16% of uterine cancer-related deaths. In this study, prognostic factors, such as incomplete cytoreduction, advanced disease stage, presence of residual tumor, extrauterine disease, and tumor size, were found to significantly impact disease-free survival and overall survival among patients with uterine carcinosarcoma.

Summary: The benefit of adjuvant radiotherapy (RT) after radical hysterectomy in cervical cancer patients remains controversial. This study found that adjuvant RT did not significantly impact survival in early-stage cervical cancer patients who met Sedlis criteria. However, further studies are needed to determine if adjuvant RT is necessary for patients with intermediate risk factors.
