Summary: The study aimed to establish a consensus on the most relevant patient-reported outcomes and corresponding measures during follow-up of advanced ovarian cancer patients. Through literature review, focus groups, nominal groups, and Delphi consultations, consensus was reached on the standardized collection of specific patient-reported outcomes and measurement tools, with agreed measurement frequencies, to optimize patient follow-up in clinical practice.

Summary: The study found a high prevalence of LvC in patients with dementia, with those receiving LvC having lower quality of life and higher likelihood of hospitalization. Different HvC treatments were associated with both positive and negative changes in health-related quality of life for patients with dementia.

Summary: This study investigated patients' perspectives on defining textbook outcomes (TO) following major abdominal surgery and found significant discordance between patient-reported and clinically defined TO measures, indicating that patients value considerations beyond traditional factors when evaluating the success of their surgery. Future studies should incorporate these additional factors to refine TO definitions.

Summary: This study aimed to analyze patients' perceived shared decision-making experiences over 4 weeks between patients participating or not in multidisciplinary tumor conferences and analyze the association of patients' active participation in and organizational variables of MTCs with patients' perceived SDM experience directly after MTC. The results showed that patients' perceived SDM experiences increased at 4 weeks after MTC with lower experiences for participating patients. The study found that the organizational variable of round table seating arrangement was significantly associated with higher perceived SDM experiences compared with other arrangements.

Summary: Integrating personalized treatment plans and care plans into the existing workflow for breast cancer patients has led to an increase in uptake, sustainability, and provider buy-in. However, finding care team members to complete the forms remains a challenge. A dedicated personnel or survivorship clinic is required for successful implementation.

Summary: This study aims to use structurally obtained patient-reported outcome data combined with clinical patient data to improve end-of-life care and patient-centered counseling for patients with palliative head and neck cancer. The study found a significant deterioration in various aspects of quality of life, but also an improvement in emotional functioning over time. The results highlight the importance of incorporating both patient-reported outcomes and clinical outcomes in improving patient-centered care.

Summary: By observing case discussions in various MDT meetings, it was found that physical status information of patients was frequently provided during the decision-making process, while nonmedical factors and treatment preferences of patients were rarely mentioned. To support robust MDT decision-making, there is a need to define data elements and develop reporting standards.

Summary: The study found that black women experienced treatment delays more frequently than white women (adjusted odds ratio: 1.93 [95% CI: 1.76-2.11], p < 0.001). The adjusted rates of treatment delay were 4.91% [95% CI: 4.51%-5.30%] and 2.60% [95% CI: 2.47%-2.74%] for black and white women, respectively, and 2.97% [95% CI: 2.83%-3.12%], 2.36% [95% CI: 2.03%-2.68%], and 1.18% [95% CI: 0.54%-1.81%] for women from metro, urban, and rural areas, respectively.

Summary: This study compares tumor subtypes, stage at diagnosis, time to surgery, and overall survival among different races of Hispanic patients and among Hispanic and non-Hispanic women of the same race. The results show that Hispanic women have improved overall survival compared to non-Hispanic women, but there are racial differences in tumor subtype and nodal stage among Hispanic women.

Summary: This study aimed to identify modifiable factors associated with cancer screening. The results showed that healthy dietary habits were associated with greater knowledge about breast and colorectal cancer screening, while negative attitudes and barriers to healthcare were associated with less screening for breast, prostate, and colorectal cancer. Having a place to seek medical care was independently associated with a higher likelihood of colorectal cancer screening.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate modifiable contributors to breast cancer treatment from the perspectives of patients and providers and assess the alignment of their perceptions. Both patients and providers identified suboptimal communication, parking and transportation issues, and competing family-caregiving responsibilities as modifiable barriers to care. However, there were also significant discrepancies between the perceptions of patients and providers.

Summary: This study examined the potential impact of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) on post-mastectomy radiotherapy (PMRT) recommendations for cT3 breast cancer. The results indicated that the use of PMRT was influenced by the response to NACT and the presence of lymph node involvement, rather than in-breast disease alone.

Summary: This study assessed the impact of surgical clerkship curricula on students' likelihood of pursuing a surgical residency. The results indicated that offering more extracurricular surgical clinical opportunities was associated with more students choosing surgical careers. However, the duration of the clerkship, the number of required and subspecialty services, and advanced clinical electives did not have a significant influence on students' career choices.
