Summary: The study investigated the association between fibromyalgia and self-reported seizures in rheumatoid arthritis patients. Results showed a significant link between FM diagnostic variables, FM-related symptoms, and self-reported seizures, indicating a complex relationship between multi-symptom comorbidity and seizures. Future studies are needed to confirm these findings using validated FM criteria assessments and clinically verified diagnoses of epileptic and psychogenic seizures.

Summary: This pilot study aimed to assess the potential relationship between light consumption of red wine and the improvement of main symptoms in fibromyalgia patients. The results showed significant improvements in pain, tender points, and anxiety variables in the red wine ingestion group, suggesting a potential beneficial effect of moderate wine consumption on fibromyalgia symptoms.

Summary: This study identified 30 parameters and 6 numeric rating scale scores associated with endometriosis through questionnaires and examinations. Women with endometriosis had longer pain duration and may experience radiating pain to the thighs/legs and dysuria. A non-invasive clinical prediction model based on these parameters and scores can be used for diagnosis and surveillance of endometriosis.

Summary: Fibromyalgia-syndrome (FMS) is a complex disease characterized by chronic widespread pain and additional symptoms. This study found that FMS patients differed from healthy controls in terms of pain parameters and psychological disturbances, but not in the composition and diversity of the fecal microbiome. The contribution of the gut microbiome to the pathophysiology of FMS was considered limited.

Summary: This study evaluated TVUS findings in patients who underwent rectosigmoid resection for DIE, finding a high percentage of adhesions and recurrence of posterior DIE. Adenomyosis was observed in 80% of women, indicating its potential link to postoperative symptoms. This suggests that postoperative TVUS can be useful for detecting persistent disease or pelvic adhesions in symptomatic patients.

Summary: This study evaluated the impact of pain symptoms on the quality of life in women with endometriosis using the visual analogue scale. The results showed that severe pain (VAS score >= 7 cm) significantly decreased the quality of life, while mild to moderate pain (VAS < 7 cm) resulted in better quality of life.

Summary: This study aimed to analyze the impact of bowel preparation on the detection of bowel involvement and rectosigmoid nodules of deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE) during transvaginal ultrasound (TVS) examination. Results showed that patients tolerated bowel preparation well, and it improved the detection of nodules, providing a more detailed description for patients with suspected endometriosis.

Summary: Endometriosis negatively impacts a patient's physical, psychological, and social aspects, affecting health-related quality of life. The SF-36 questionnaire is an effective tool for assessing the quality of life of women with endometriosis, especially in evaluating physical functioning which improves significantly after surgical or hormonal treatment.

Summary: The prevalence of fibromyalgia in the German general population is 73% greater using the AAPT criteria than the FM 2016 criteria. The AAPT criteria select individuals with less symptom severity and fewer pain sites. The FM 2016 criteria provide a general severity measure for fibromyalgia, but the AAPT criteria do not.

Summary: This study found that patients with adenomyosis have lower scores in health-related quality of life domains, higher levels of anxiety and depression, and increased work productivity loss compared to those without adenomyosis. The presence of adenomyosis is associated with higher yearly estimated indirect costs and significantly impacts women's mental health and daily activities.

Summary: Women with deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE) experience impaired quality of life, which may improve with the use of combined oral contraceptives (COCs) containing dienogest and ethinyl estradiol. Patients with DIE and associated adenomyosis (AD) have poorer sexual quality of life and more intense pain symptoms. After 12 months of treatment, both groups showed significant improvement in overall and sexual quality of life.
