Summary: Previous research has not examined increased vaping due to the pandemic among young adults using a national sample. This study aims to fill this gap by exploring self-reported increased vaping during the COVID-19 pandemic and its associations with important outcomes related to future nicotine use.

Summary: Most vapers continued using the same vaping device and features over 18 months. Differences in NVP types and features were observed between countries, suggesting that differing NVP regulations affect consumer choices regarding the type of vaping device to use.

Summary: Electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) provide a variety of flavors that are attractive to adults and adolescents due to their pleasant taste and ability to mask the harshness of nicotine. However, there is limited research on the molecular interactions between chemical flavorants and smoking or vaping-related behaviors.

Summary: The greening and browning of global vegetation are influenced by multiple processes, including climate change, CO2 fertilization, and land management. Based on the vegetation-water-heat relationship, these processes can be categorized into two types of eco-hydrological processes: dryness change and usage change. By analyzing remote-sensing data and climate data, it has been found that dryness change has become the dominant factor in climate change impacts on vegetated lands globally, leading to a fundamental weakening of global greening.

Summary: Ketamine shows promise as an antidepressant, but further research is needed on its safety, tolerability, and potential cognitive effects. The development of esketamine nasal spray with large-scale clinical data highlights its real-world effectiveness in treating treatment-resistant depression. Future antidepressants are expected to be glutamatergic drugs with rapid antidepressant effects similar to ketamine, but without its adverse effects.

Summary: Food security is becoming an increasingly important issue in society, and its relationship with environmental quality is being recognized. This study examines how consumers' concerns about food insecurity and their environmental beliefs affect the carbon footprint of their diets. The results show that health-related food insecurity concerns lead to a lower carbon footprint, while poverty-related food insecurity concerns lead to a higher carbon footprint due to a focus on taste and low price.

Summary: This article provides an overview of potential vaping-cessation interventions in adult former smokers. The interventions reviewed include varenicline, bupropion, nicotine-replacement therapies (NRTs), and behavioural therapy. Evidence for intervention effectiveness is provided when available, while recommendations for other interventions are extrapolated from case studies or smoking-cessation guidelines. The limitations of these interventions, a lack of prospective studies, and the challenges to vaping safety are also discussed.

Summary: This study analyzes the chemical composition of vaping products (VPs) purchased in the USA, Canada, England and Australia, and assesses whether differences in regulations are associated with differences in the VPs' composition. The study finds that there are variations in the composition of VPs, particularly in terms of nicotine and flavoring, among different countries. Additionally, in England, the liquids purchased contain more identifiable flavoring chemicals compared to other countries.

Summary: The study found that teacher concern is moderately predictive of whether a child or young person has a mental disorder, and the lack of teacher concern often indicates good mental health. When both teachers and parents are concerned about a child or young person, they are more likely to have a mental disorder.
