Trends and Disparities in the Distribution of Outpatient Physicians' Annual Face Time with Patients, 1979-2018

Summary: Americans' annual face time with office-based physicians increased for three decades after 1979, but it is still inequitably allocated. In recent years, time spent with primary care physicians has decreased while time with specialists has increased. Racial/ethnic disparities in physician visit time have also widened.

In his testimony, he argued that Medicare for All is necessary from a medical and moral standpoint. Uptake and Equity in Influenza Vaccination Among Veterans with VA Coverage, Veterans Without VA Coverage, and Non-Veterans in the USA, 2019-2020

Summary: The coverage of Veterans' Health Administration (VA) is associated with higher and more equitable influenza vaccination rates. Veterans with VA coverage have a higher vaccination rate compared to veterans without VA coverage and non-veterans, and VA coverage is also associated with reduced disparities in vaccination based on race/ethnicity and income.

Prognostic implications of differences in forced vital capacity in black and white US adults: Findings from NHANES III with long-term mortality follow-up

Summary: This study found that lower FVC in Black individuals is associated with increased risk of all-cause mortality, challenging the standard assumption about race-based normal limits. The Black-White disparities in FVC may be attributed to social/environmental factors rather than innate differences.
