Summary: The study revealed that Propofol in Non-Operating Room Anesthesia (NORA) for paediatric dental treatment is effective with minimal side effects. There were statistically significant associations between side effects and factors like age, health status, weight, number of treatments, and types of procedure. Post-discharge questionnaires also showed significant associations between age, health status, weight, and specific symptoms or needs following the treatment.

Summary: The study examines the impact of motorcycle helmet laws on adolescent behavior, highlighting that universal laws result in higher compliance rates due to their more convincing message about protection. This suggests broader alternatives should be considered in safety and health policy-making.

Summary: The study aimed to determine the risk of prolonged general anesthesia (GA) in pediatric dental patients and identify factors contributing to prolonged GA in patients under the age of three. The results showed that cases closer to age three, longer non-throat pack time, more restorative procedures, longer procedure times, and frequent use of additional surgical services were associated with prolonged GA exposure.

Summary: Space debris poses a threat to satellites in low Earth orbit, and despite mitigation guidelines, their numbers continue to grow. As a result, active debris removal missions and on-orbit servicing missions have gained attention. Navigating near a target space object is a crucial step, and existing techniques are not yet mature enough to handle uncooperative and unknown targets. This paper proposes a hybrid method called Coarse Model-Based Relative Navigation (CoMBiNa), which constructs a coarse model of the target and uses it as a reference for relative navigation in order to estimate state and inertia. The paper also suggests a strategy for outlier detection and rejection. Testing CoMBiNa in a simulated environment demonstrates its benefits and limitations, as well as its applicability on a limited-resource single-board computer.

Summary: Graphene-based nanomaterials (GBNs) have excellent antimicrobial properties by disrupting bacterial cell membrane integrity and generating reactive oxygen species (ROS). The antimicrobial effects of GBNs are influenced by factors such as microbial cell morphology, GBNs characteristics, and concentration. Potential clinical applications of GBNs in dentistry include denture fabrication, restorative treatment, orthodontic treatment, and dental implant treatment.

Summary: Automatic age estimation using panoramic dental radiographic images is important for forensics and oral healthcare. This study developed a deep neural network model to estimate tooth ages without precise age information. The model achieved high accuracies, indicating the potential of artificial intelligence in both forensic and clinical aspects of oral care.

Summary: Indoor localization using fine time measurement (FTM) round-trip time (RTT) with respect to Wi-Fi access points (APs) has been shown to provide 1-2 m accuracy. However, the slow penetration of the IEEE 802.11-2016 Wi-Fi standard has hindered the implementation of this method. Google's release of Android 12 with support for an alternative one-sided RTT method allows for distance measurements with legacy APs, although with slightly decreased accuracy.

Summary: This paper presents an onboard software architecture for estimating the shape and dynamical model of an unknown, uncooperative space debris and performing tracking using features detected in the image. The proposed architecture has been tested and validated in a computer-simulated environment, showing a mean position and attitude error of 0.3 meters and 1.5 degrees, respectively, in over 100 simulations.

Summary: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationships between age, personality, and decision-making styles in relation to risky driving behaviors. The results showed that younger men and women were more likely to engage in Lapses, Ordinary violations, and Aggressive violations compared to older individuals. Gender differences were also observed, with women more likely to engage in Lapses and men more likely to engage in Ordinary and Aggressive violations while driving. Both personality traits and decision-making styles were found to play a significant role in risky driving behaviors, with Aggressiveness, Sensitivity to Reward, and Sensation Seeking being the main personality factors influencing such behaviors. Spontaneous and Rational decision-making styles also accounted for some variance. These findings were consistent across both genders. The discussion section provides an analysis of the results in relation to previous literature and offers recommendations based on the findings.

Summary: The study found that resin-modified glass ionomer-based fluoride varnish did not show superior effectiveness compared to GI sealant in preventing occlusal caries lesions in partially erupted molars. There were no significant differences in the proportion of teeth with ICDAS score >= 1 and retention rates between the two treatment groups at the 12-month follow-up, although the mean application time per tooth was significantly different.

Summary: Dens invaginatus is a rare developmental disturbance that can occur during tooth development. The clinical recognition of the radicular variant is challenging and it is usually asymptomatic. This report describes a case of the radicular variant of dens invaginatus in an 8-year-old child, where the affected tooth was extracted. In other cases, appropriate restorative/endodontic treatments may be performed.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate and compare the clinical effectiveness of alkasite with nanofilled resin composite restorations for occlusal caries lesions in permanent molar teeth of children, at one-year follow-up. In this randomized controlled clinical trial with parallel design, 38 children aged 7-13 years with occlusal caries lesions on 59 first permanent molars were assigned into two groups, with each group using a different type of composite material. The results showed that both materials had clinically acceptable and comparable performances.

Summary: This study evaluated the perception and self-confidence of dental interns regarding endodontic treatment in South India. The results showed that a majority of interns had performed less than 10 root canal treatments, indicating a lack of clinical experience. The study concluded that interns' self-perceived confidence level can impact their performance and recommended additional hands-on workshops and clinical guidance to enhance their confidence in root canal procedures.

Summary: The aim of this in vitro study was to compare the surface roughness and wettability of three different posterior resin-based composites (RBCs) after polishing and to investigate the changes in these surface characteristics over a 3-month period of aqueous aging. The results showed that alkasite composite had higher surface roughness and lower wettability than conventional nanofilled composite and bulk-fill nanocomposite, indicating that alkasite composite may be advantageous in preventing initial plaque adhesion while nano-filled composites may be more advantageous in terms of plaque retention prevention.
