Summary: The prognosis is poor for patients with recurrent intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) after hepatectomy. Alcohol consumption and DFS <6 months are independent risk factors for cumulative survival in recurrent patients, while treatment after recurrence is an independent protective factor. Multimodality therapy can effectively improve the prognosis of patients.

Summary: This study identified prognostic factors and recommended therapeutic strategies for patients with single large HCC and good performance status. Resection as an initial treatment should be considered, particularly for patients with low platelet count, low sodium level, and large tumor diameter. However, caution should be exercised in patients with these risk factors.

Summary: This study analyzed the long-term outcomes of R1 vascular (R1vasc) and R1 parenchymal (R1par) resections in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (iCCA) and found that patients who underwent R1vasc resection had unsatisfactory oncological outcomes. These findings suggest that R1vasc resection should be avoided in iCCA patients.

Summary: This study evaluated the feasibility, safety, and clinical outcomes of laparoscopic hepatectomy for patients aged 60 and older with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. The results showed that laparoscopic surgery had better short-term clinical outcomes compared to open surgery and achieved comparable long-term prognoses.

Summary: This retrospective study found that adjuvant TACE after hepatectomy may not improve long-term survival and might promote postoperative recurrence in HCC patients with a low risk of recurrence.

Summary: Through 1:1 propensity score-matching, it was found that HCV infection increases the risk of recurrence and worsens overall survival in patients with MF and MF + PI type ICC after surgery.

Summary: The prognosis of patients with resected intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) is still unsatisfactory, with a high recurrence rate. This study evaluated the risks of recurrence changing over time and the survival benefit of resection for recurrent ICC. The results showed that the rate of recurrence decreased over time, and re-resection for recurrent ICC was associated with improved overall survival, particularly among patients with longer disease-free interval and absence of microvascular invasion (MVI) after initial hepatectomy.

Summary: The incidence of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICCA) has significantly increased. A nomogram was developed to predict the overall survival (OS) of ICCA patients. Age, gender, tumor size, tumor invasion, distant metastasis, lymph node surgery, and treatment were associated with prognosis. Liver transplantation (LT) may be a potential option for some patients.

Summary: This study evaluated the prognostic significance of tumor burden score (TBS) and CA19-9 in patients with resectable intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC). The study found that both TBS and CA19-9 levels were strong predictors of survival outcomes. The combination of TBS and CA19-9 showed a synergistic effect in prognostic evaluation.

Summary: There is no significant difference in the treatment outcomes between LH and RH for resectable pCCA patients. However, LH requires more arterial reconstruction, which is technically demanding and should be performed by experienced surgeons in high-volume centers.

Summary: This study identified predictors and long-term prognosis of early and late recurrence after hepatic resection for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Results showed that there were different independent predictors associated with early and late recurrence, with patients experiencing early recurrence having poorer long-term survival compared to those with late recurrence.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the prognostic value of serum CA125 in patients with ICC after hepatectomy, and found that preoperative elevated CA125 is an independent prognostic predictor for overall survival and disease-free survival in ICC patients.

Summary: This study evaluated the effects of postoperative radiotherapy (PORT) on prognosis and recurrence in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) who underwent narrow-margin hepatectomy (NH). The results showed that the PORT group had significantly higher 5-year overall survival and disease-free survival rates compared to the non-PORT group, and the tumor recurrence rate was lower in the PORT group. Therefore, postoperative radiotherapy may have significant benefits in the treatment of HCC.
