Summary: This research developed algorithms to map EQ-5D-3L responses to EQ-5D-5L value sets and found that including indicants of problems for other dimensions as regressors in the model improved prediction accuracy. Adding age and gender lowered AIC without improving predictions, while including a latent factor slightly improved predictive accuracy. Models conditioning on problems in other dimensions yielded more accurate predictions than an alternative copula-based approach.

Summary: The objective of this study was to derive population norms for the EQ-5D-5L in Canada using a representative sample. Data from the Canadian EQ-5D-5L valuation study were analyzed, and the results showed that pain/discomfort was the most frequently reported problem, while self-care was the least. The study provides the population references for economic evaluations and clinical research in Canada.

Summary: The study aimed to estimate population norms for the Romanian versions of EQ-5D-5L, EQ-5D-3L, their indexes, and EQ VAS. A cross-sectional survey was conducted using a representative sample, and descriptive statistics were used to estimate population norms by age groups and sex. The findings provide reference values for healthcare professionals, researchers, and decision-makers in Romania.

Summary: This study compared the psychometric properties of the EQ-5D-5L questionnaire with the EQ-5D-3L version and EQ VAS in the general adult population of Poland. It found that the EQ-5D-5L had similar or better psychometric properties compared to its EQ-5D-3L equivalent. The novel approach of using a machine learning technique known as the random forest algorithm for construct validity assessment proved to be effective.

Summary: The main objective of this study is to estimate a national value set of the EQ-5D-5L questionnaire for Iran. The cTTO and DCE methods, along with the EQ-PVT protocol, were used to estimate the value set. Through data analysis, a heteroscedastic censored Tobit hybrid model combining cTTO and DCE responses was identified as the best fitting model.

Summary: The study aims to generate normative profiles for EQ-5D-5L dimensions, EQ-5D-5L index, and EQ-VAS scores of the general Thai population, and examine the associations between sociodemographic characteristics and their norm-based scores. The findings show that the mean EQ-5D-5L index and EQ-VAS scores for the general Thai population are 0.931 and 82.3, respectively. Factors such as gender, age, household income, and health perception are associated with lower EQ-5D-5L index and EQ-VAS scores. This study is important for health service research and healthcare resource allocation.

Summary: This study aimed to test the validity and reliability of the EQ-5D-5L (5L) in cancer patients compared to EQ-5D-3L (3L). The results showed that compared to 3L, 5L performed better in terms of ceiling effect, inconsistency, discriminatory power, convergent validity, and relative efficiency.

Summary: The study revealed that more than half of the respondents reported problems of pain/discomfort, while over a quarter reported problems of anxiety/depression. Women reported more problems on all dimensions, particularly on anxiety/depression and pain/discomfort, resulting in significantly lower index values. Problems with mobility, self-care, and usual activities increased significantly after the age of 80, leading to a decrease in index values. Lower education was associated with a higher prevalence of problems for all dimensions except anxiety/depression and with a significantly lower index value.

Summary: The purpose of the study was to provide the first Norwegian EQ-5D-5L and EQ VAS population norms for the adult general population. A postal survey was conducted on a random sample of 12,790 Norwegians to collect data on EQ-5D-5L dimensions, EQ-5D index, and EQ VAS scores, stratified by age categories, gender, and education level. The results showed variations in health status across different age groups, genders, and education levels, with higher levels of health associated with increasing education.

Summary: This study provides EQ-5D-5L population norms for the general population in Vietnam and demonstrates the known-groups validity of EQ-5D-5L instrument among people living with hypertension there. Results show that EQ-VAS and EQ-5D-5L indexes were higher among younger, male, more educated, employed, and single individuals. Statistically significant associations were found between lower EQ-5D-5L indexes and EQ-VAS among people diagnosed with hypertension, those with increasing comorbidities, and obese individuals.

Summary: This study tested the feasibility of using videoconferencing for preference collection and derived an EQ5D-5L value set for Italy. The pilot demonstrated the technical, organizational, and protocol feasibility of videoconferencing interviews. Data models were chosen and the values for health states were determined. Summary: This research aimed to determine the robustness of the German EQ-5D-5L valuation data for the general population compared with those with health impairments. The results showed that people with self-reported health impairments do not have different EQ-5D-5L health state preferences compared with the German general population.

Summary: The study analyzed a subset of data from the German EQ-5D-5L valuation study, examining severity levels per dimension, means, standard deviations, and confidence intervals of index and EQ VAS values by age groups and gender. Health problems were reported more frequently with higher age, leading to decreasing index and EQ VAS values. Men reported fewer problems than women, particularly beyond the age of 80.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the significance of regional collaboration in disease prevention and control. Establishing a regional center for disease control has been a challenge for ASEAN due to various factors. In the future, regional initiatives should adopt a comprehensive approach to address the complexity of emerging infectious diseases and consider the social and economic impact of diseases on the region.

Summary: This study compared patient care multipliers estimated subjectively with work sampling techniques in genetic nursing activities. The results showed significant differences between the two techniques, with work sampling estimating less direct care time but more indirect care and unit-related activity time compared to subjective evaluation. The study concluded that estimating the cost of care based solely on face-to-face contact time with patients underestimates the actual cost, and more time should be allocated to patient-related care activities.

Summary: This study evaluated the time-to-treatment of oral cancer and potentially malignant oral disorders (PMOD) in a Malaysian public healthcare setting. The study found that patient delay was the major contributor to the overall treatment time. Many patients delayed seeking care because they did not perceive the lesions as dangerous. System and professional delays were comparably shorter.

Summary: This study compared health preferences for EQ-5D-5L health states between urban and rural populations in China. The results showed that rural participants tended to value health states lower than urban participants regardless of severity. The overall mean differences between the two groups were statistically significant. Predictions based on rural participants' health preferences were lower than those based on urban participants' health preferences.

Summary: This study surveyed a representative adult population in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore to assess their willingness to uptake dengue vaccines and their knowledge, attitudes, and practices towards dengue, vector control, prevention, and vaccination. The results showed low global scores for knowledge (48%) and practice (44%), and a moderate score for attitude (66%), with comparable scores across countries. Among all respondents, 53% had a high willingness to vaccinate against dengue, with higher willingness in Latin America (59%) than in Asia Pacific (40%). Key factors associated with increased willingness included accessibility to public vaccination and trust in the healthcare system and government. A common approach to dengue prevention across endemic countries, with country-specific customization, may reduce dengue burden and improve outcomes.
