Summary: This study evaluated a novel nano-lipoidal eye drop formulation of triamcinolone acetonide (TA) for the topical treatment of uveitis. The developed triamcinolone acetonide-loaded nanostructured lipid carriers (cTA-NLC) showed sustained release and enhanced efficacy in vitro. In vivo efficacy was tested on Wistar rats and a pharmacokinetic study was conducted in rabbits. The results demonstrated that the cTA-NLC formulation effectively managed uveitis with minimal signs of inflammation.

Summary: In this study, a reliable UPLCESI-MS/MS method was developed for the quantification of TA in human plasma after a single intramuscular injection. The method was validated and shown to accurately determine TA concentrations in plasma with high precision and accuracy. The results indicated that the test and reference formulations of TA exhibited bioequivalence in healthy Chinese volunteers.

Summary: This study showed that activated gamma delta T cells may promote DCs maturation to exacerbate EAU development, while blocking IFN-gamma could decrease DCs maturation. In KO EAU mice, the decrease in percentage of IFN-gamma- and IL-17-producing CD4(+) T cells was greater compared to WT EAU mice. The levels of IFN-gamma/IL-17 in serum were consistent with those of CD4(+) T cells, indicating the potential role of gamma delta T cells in Th1/Th17 cell generation in EAU.

Summary: The study demonstrated that EGCG enhances cell viability and protects against UVB-induced apoptosis in HLECs by reducing ROS generation, maintaining mitochondrial membrane potential, increasing total antioxidant capacity, and inhibiting expression of AIF and Endo G. These findings suggest that EGCG acts through AIF/Endo G signaling pathways to mitigate UVB-induced oxidative stress in HLECs.
