Summary: The study found that in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, the long noncoding RNA SNHG17 is upregulated and its knockdown can inhibit tumor cell activities such as proliferation, invasion, and metastasis. Additionally, SNHG17 interacts with miR-338-3p to regulate the expression of SOX4 gene. These molecular interactions may serve as potential therapeutic targets for ESCC.

Summary: This study identified LIPH-4 as a novel oncogenic lncRNA in ESCC that promotes growth, regulates cell cycle, and inhibits apoptosis. LIPH-4 can bind to miR-216b and regulate the expression of IGF2BP2, playing an oncogenic role in ESCC through the miR-216b/IGF2BP2 axis.

Summary: In this study, key long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) involved in the competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network associated with laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) were investigated. Through functional enrichment analysis and construction of the ceRNA regulatory network, the functions of these lncRNAs and their importance in LSCC were determined. The results were further validated by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) analysis.

Summary: This study reveals that oxaliplatin resistance is potentially driven by oxidative stress-induced DNA damage repair response activating autophagy flux. The long non-coding RNA NORAD may play a crucial role in regulating autophagy and oxidative stress in the context of oxaliplatin resistance, indicating its potential as a biomarker and therapeutic target.

Summary: This study identified a highly expressed circRNA, hsa_circ_0001707, in ESCC and found that overexpression of hsa_circ_0001707 significantly promoted tumor proliferation, metastasis, and invasion. Through functioning as a ceRNA to regulate the activity of miR-203a-3p and Snail2 gene, hsa_circ_0001707 enhanced the endothelial-mesenchymal transition process in ESCC. This research revealed the crucial role of hsa_circ_0001707 in the pathogenesis of ESCC and its potential as a biomarker for diagnostics and targeted therapy.

Summary: This study identifies a new lncRNA, MIR2187HG, which is significantly upregulated upon SCRV infection and plays a regulatory role in the immune response of fish. MIR2187HG acts as a negative regulator of the TBK1-mediated antiviral signaling pathway, allowing for effective suppression of excessive immunity. Additionally, SCRV can utilize MIR2187HG to enhance its own replication.

Summary: PVT1 is highly expressed in endometrial cancer and cancer stem cells (CSCs) and correlates with poor prognosis. It promotes the malignant behavior and stemness of endometrial cancer cells (ECCs) and CSCs. In contrast, miR-136, which is lowly expressed, has the opposite effect. PVT1 competitively sponges miR-136 to activate Sox2, which promotes the malignant behavior and stemness of ECCs and CSCs. Simultaneously downregulating PVT1 and upregulating miR-136 has the strongest anti-tumor effect in endometrial cancer.

Summary: Laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) is a common malignant tumor of head and neck cancers, with lncRNA PVT1 being upregulated in LSCC cell lines, influencing LSCC cellular progression by regulating MBNL1 expression through sponging miR-1301-3p. This may offer new targets for basic research or clinical management of LSCC.

Summary: In this study, the upregulation of HNF1A-AS1 in GBM was associated with poor patient survival, revealing its precise mechanism in promoting GBM malignancy, including regulating ENO1 expression by interacting with miR-22-3p. Knockdown of HNF1A-AS1 significantly inhibited the malignant phenotypes of GBM cells, indicating its potential as a therapeutic target.
