Summary: This paper investigates the consumer's attitude towards sustainability of fast fashion products in the UK through an online questionnaire survey, revealing consistency in cognitive and behavioral components across cultures and religions, while significant diversity in affective component. Employment status contributes to sustainability awareness, decision-making, and feelings, while gender affects purchase decisions. Increased cognitive and affective awareness of sustainability does not automatically lead to purchase behavior, indicating a need for policy interventions to promote sustainability in the fast fashion industry.

Summary: Theories of epidemiologic transition analyze changes in mortality causes due to shifts in risk factors over time. However, they do not consider health inequities resulting from environmental injustice. A study on seven case neighborhoods in the United States and Western Europe found that a history of environmental injustice, urban renewal, and green gentrification have complex impacts on health inequity.

Summary: The fashion industry is dominated by fast fashion companies that rely on unlimited consumption-led growth. However, a more sufficient-driven approach is necessary to curb consumerism and contribute to sustainability. This study proposes a three-pillar framework of strategies for fashion companies to foster sufficient consumption and reduce dependence on new items. By analyzing the annual reports of top companies, the study examines the adoption of these strategies and the role of the 2030 Agenda. The results show that companies are slowly embracing these strategies but tend to prioritize those with less impact on their traditional operations.

Summary: The clothing sector, which is the second biggest polluter worldwide, is facing increasing global scrutiny. Fast fashion, once seen as the democratization of fashion, has become a resource-intensive market. However, sustainable alternatives remain niche compared to the scale of global fast fashion. This paper examines the determinants of rental clothing adoption in the UK and finds that affordability, style, sustainability desires, and geography are key factors. Increasing trust and accessibility are crucial in making rental clothing schemes mainstream alternatives to fast fashion.
