Summary: IGM is a mysterious inflammatory breast disorder that responds well to immunomodulatory treatment with methotrexate. Patients treated with methotrexate have the highest rates of relapse-free remission compared to those treated with steroids alone or steroids and surgery. Erythema nodosum and arthritis/arthralgia may be under-recognized manifestations of IGM when managed outside rheumatology settings.
