Summary: LEL-HCC is a rare liver tumor with potential efficacy and safety of immune checkpoint blockade, although current evidence-based practices are lacking. A case report demonstrates successful treatment of LEL-HCC with an immune checkpoint inhibitor. More robust, large-scale analysis is needed for better evaluation of treatment strategies and outcomes for this rare tumor subtype.

Summary: This study investigated the efficacy and safety of different treatment regimens for advanced pulmonary lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma (pLELC). The results showed that chemoimmunotherapy had the highest 2-year progression-free survival (PFS) as a first-line treatment, suggesting that it may be the best treatment option for patients with advanced pLELC.

Summary: The purpose of this study was to optimize the diagnosis and treatment of lymphoepithelioma-like hepatic carcinoma (LELC). By retrospectively analyzing 16 cases of LELC and using cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) as control groups, it was found that the diagnosis and treatment of LELC showed better results.

Summary: Epstein-Barr virus-associated lymphoepithelioma-like intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (EBVa LEL-ICC) is a rare tumor that has shown inconsistent response to immunotherapy. We report a case of a 53-year-old woman with EBVa LEL-ICC who initially responded to immunotherapy and chemotherapy but developed resistance. Stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) was added to the patient's treatment, resulting in successful tumor shrinkage. Surgery and SABR are effective adjuncts to improve the survival rate of patients with EBVa LEL-ICC.

Summary: In this study, the expression levels and prognostic value of multiple inhibitory checkpoints in head and neck lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma (HNLELC) were investigated. The results showed that the expression of inhibitory checkpoints and an inhibitory checkpoint-based signature (ICS) may enhance the prognostic value of the TNM staging system and guide personalized inhibitory checkpoint blockade therapy in HNLELC.

Summary: In patients with advanced NSCLC, changes in ctDNA levels after pembrolizumab treatment may predict treatment response before radiological assessment. Early decreases in ctDNA corresponded with clinical benefit, suggesting a potential role for ctDNA as an early pharmacodynamic biomarker of response or resistance to immunotherapies.

Summary: Pulmonary lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma (PLELC) is a rare and distinctive subtype of nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The potential of immunotherapy for advanced PLELC, characterized by high PD-L1 expression and scarcity of druggable driver mutations, remains unclear due to limited and inconclusive evidence on the clinical impact of immune-checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs).

Summary: This study retrospectively reviewed data from 18 patients diagnosed with PPLELC at Zhejiang Cancer Hospital between 2009 and 2020, investigating the correlation between PD-L1 expression, clinicopathological characteristics, and treatment outcomes. The results showed that the prognosis of PPLELC is better than other NSCLC subtypes, and immunotherapy may be a promising approach to extend survival in advanced PPLELC patients.

Summary: This study aimed to develop a preoperative risk scoring model based on CT images to distinguish lymphoepithelioma-like gastric carcinoma (LELGC) from non-LELGC. The study found that enhancement pattern, CT-defined lymph node status, and attenuation in the venous phase were independent predictors of LELGC. The risk identification model showed high accuracy in both the training and validation cohorts.

Summary: This meta-analysis found that anti-PD-(L)1 with or without chemotherapy was associated with longer overall survival and progression-free survival for patients with KRAS-mutant NSCLCs compared to chemotherapy alone. The benefits were seen in both first- and second-line trials, with patients with KRAS-mutant NSCLCs experiencing significantly longer overall survival than those with wild-type KRAS tumors.

Summary: This study examined the implementation of the telemedicine device Consult Station in areas with a low density of medical services and evaluated its contribution to health care pathways. The results showed that Consult Station was mainly used by younger women for low-severity seasonal infections, while consultations for hypertension, diabetes, and preventive medicine were less common. The implementation of Consult Station could address the challenge of medical deserts and potentially reduce work absenteeism.

Summary: Anti-HER2 therapies greatly improve the prognosis of HER2-overexpressing cancers, but the relationship between HER2 copy number and response rate to treatment is unclear. A meta-analysis was performed on 9 studies, involving 11,238 women with breast cancer, to study the association between HER2 amplification level and pathological complete response (pCR). The analysis showed that higher HER2/CEP17 ratio was associated with higher pCR rates, confirming the potential therapeutic value of considering HER2 amplification level.

Summary: This article summarizes the main needs of patients with progressive pulmonary fibrosis (PF) and their caregivers and proposes a supportive care approach. Personalized care, education, emotional and psychological support, specialized treatments, and better access to information and resources are necessary. Treatment should start at diagnosis and be tailored to the patient's needs, including individualized pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions such as oxygen therapy and pulmonary rehabilitation.

Summary: In locally advanced non-small-cell lung cancer, mediastinal staging is crucial for therapeutic decision-making. This case report presents a rare case of endobronchial involvement by metastatic lymph node cells after endobronchial ultrasound. The need for careful endoscopic control before surgical resection is highlighted in cases of prior positive endobronchial ultrasound with a time interval.
