Summary: Flexible and context-appropriate social functioning is crucial for survival, as it provides a template for future social processing. Early caregiving adversity can have lasting impacts on social behavior and increase vulnerability to psychiatric disorders. This article examines the neural circuit mechanisms underlying social behavior scaffolding, focusing on dopamine and its role in regions involved in social and threat processing. It also explores the relevance of altered dopamine signaling and dysfunction in social anhedonia among human populations with schizophrenia and major depressive disorder.

Summary: This study examined the effects of positive and negative perfectionism on parental burnout. It found that positive perfectionism had a negative impact on parental burnout, while negative perfectionism had a positive impact. Parenting stress mediated these relationships, and fathers' co-parenting behavior moderated the relationship between negative perfectionism and parenting stress.

Summary: Research explores the relationship between early parenting and self-harm in adolescence, and investigates the mediating role of emotion regulation and decision-making in childhood. The study finds indirect effects of parenting on self-harm through emotional dysregulation and identifies a positive association between delay aversion and self-harm in adolescence.

Summary: Mental health symptoms resulting from trauma exposure and substance use disorders often co-occur, with a potential shared etiology being an important question in translational neuroscience. Despite advancements in genetics, basic science, and neuroimaging improving understanding, the high rates of comorbidity and relapse remain a clinical challenge.

Summary: This study examined the mechanism of how maternal COVID-19 distress influences preschoolers' problematic media use through a moderated mediation model. It found that parenting stress and negative instrumental use of media in parenting mediate the relationship, while supportive co-parenting moderates this mediation path.

Summary: In recent decades, the incidence of early-onset cancers has been increasing in many countries. A cancer diagnosis in a mother not only burdens the patient but also affects the entire family system, especially her minor children. This study aimed to analyze factors associated with children's psychosocial adjustment regarding maternal cancer. The findings showed that the time since diagnosis and mothers' anxiety and parenting stress were related to children's difficulties.

Summary: Recent IPV exposure has stronger associations with negative parenting outcomes compared to past exposure, influencing parenting behavior through increased parenting stress. Maternal childhood abuse history does not appear to sensitize women to the effects of IPV exposure on parenting stress and behaviors.

Summary: This paper presents a generic framework for resilience modeling and analysis of multistate energy systems, developing a multistate resilience model based on a Markov reward process model and defining four numerical metrics. By using a simulation-based algorithm, resilience modeling and analysis of a Nuclear Power Plant under the threat of earthquakes were successfully conducted, demonstrating the ability of the model to comprehensively describe the resilience of multistate energy systems under the threats of extreme events.

Summary: The study used hair cortisol to investigate the impact of maternal physiological stress and parenting behaviors on young children's physiological stress. The results showed a positive association between maternal and child physiological stress, with no significant relationship found between parenting behavior and children's stress levels. There were also no mediating pathways identified between economic or psychosocial adversity and children's physiological stress, suggesting that genetic factors may play a larger role.

Summary: This study examines the associations between prenatal maternal stress and child mental health outcomes, and the moderating effects of parenting behaviors. The results confirm the associations between prenatal maternal stress and children's mental health, and demonstrate that these associations may be modified by parenting behaviors.
