Summary: The study found that glucocorticoid treatment led to miRNA expression changes in different cell types. 19.5% of the influenced signaling pathways were common in all experiments, with the Wnt signaling pathway being the most affected. Transcriptome data and tissue-specific target prediction showed similar results, indicating significant alterations in the Wnt pathway in both the GC-producing adrenal gland and all investigated GC target tissue types.

Summary: Lichen sclerosus (LS) is a chronic inflammatory skin disorder with unknown pathogenesis. Aberrant expression of microRNAs (miRNAs) is considered to play a crucial role in LS. This study identified a total of 170 differentially expressed miRNAs in female LS patients, with 119 upregulated and 51 downregulated, suggesting their potential importance in the pathogenesis of LS. Additionally, molecular network analysis provided further insight into the mechanisms underlying LS.

Summary: Studies have shown that miRNAs play an important role in classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL), leading to the loss of B-cell phenotype and NF-kappa B activation. Furthermore, miRNAs regulate this process by targeting B-cell-related transcription factors and NF-kappa B inhibitors.

Summary: Phosphorus (Pi) is vital for plant growth and its uptake is regulated by signaling pathways. SPX domain-containing proteins negatively regulate PHRs and maintain phosphate homeostasis. MiRNAs are expressed under Pi deficiency and their profiles help understand Pi-starvation response regulation. However, the regulation of miRNA expression by SPX-PHR signaling in long-term Pi starvation in rice is still unclear. A genome-wide analysis identified Pi-responsive miRNAs and specific miRNAs between Pi-sufficient and -deficient conditions. These findings provide insights into miRNA functions and genetic improvement of nutrient efficiency in rice.

Summary: The study identified numerous mite-specific miRNAs in V. destructor, with a prominent role played by bantam in gene expression control. Additionally, signs of miRNA post-transcriptional regulatory mechanisms were observed, indicating the importance of miRNAs in V. destructor. The findings suggest a conservative role for conserved miRNAs in controlling similar processes across different organisms.

Summary: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is a common malignant tumor with suboptimal clinical success due to late diagnosis, limited treatment options, high recurrence rates, and drug resistance. MicroRNAs (miRNAs), small non-coding RNAs, have emerged as important players in NSCLC initiation, progression, and drug resistance. This review provides an overview of miRNA dysregulation and resistance in NSCLC and discusses their potential applications in different anti-cancer treatments.

Summary: In our study, we discovered that extracellular vesicles (EVs) play a crucial role in aging, as they can induce chronic inflammation by activating immune cells. We found that EVs derived from senescent cells contain miR-30b-5p, which downregulates SIRT1 and enhances pro-inflammatory cytokine production. Additionally, we observed increased levels of miR-30b-5p in both the aging animal model and EVs harvested from tissues. EVs carrying pro-inflammatory signals can alter immune cell activity in the aging microenvironment, leading to an increase in inflammation.
