Summary: A survey on the lichen family Graphidaceae in Macaronesia was conducted, providing detailed treatments and new records for several genera. The study also presents a key for all Graphicacy known in Macaronesia, except for the thelotremoid species. Additionally, several newly described species and new records for the three archipelagos are reported.

Summary: South and North Korea have experienced contrasting economic developments since the 1950s despite sharing similar climates. The greening rate in North Korea over 1986-2017 was almost twice that of South Korea, with the expansion of agricultural facilities in South Korea's cropland being the main cause of the greening discrepancy. CO2 fertilization effects and transitions from grassland to cropland promoted an increase in NDVImax in North Korea, while deforestation led to decreasing NDVImax in forest areas.

Summary: This article investigates how sticky notes challenge the historical hierarchies of South Korean corporate culture by deploying ethnographic methods and actor-network theory. The study reveals that sticky notes play a crucial role in collaborative inquiry, enabling a more diverse and equal participation of opinions among participants, and helping to diminish hierarchical structures in the workplace.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a significant decline in cancer screening rates worldwide. This study focused on the impact of the pandemic on cancer screening rates in South Korea, and found that the rates for colorectal, stomach, breast, and cervical cancer screenings decreased between 2019 and 2020. The study also revealed that screening rates were lower for metropolitan residents, individuals with higher socioeconomic status, and those without a history of chronic diseases.

Summary: Countries around the world, including Korea, have implemented control measures such as social distancing to combat the spread of COVID-19. Analysis of different policies is crucial to understand their impact on epidemic spread. Models show that a second outbreak is possible if transmission rate increases after the end of social distancing, and early detection and isolation are more effective than quarantine in certain scenarios.

Summary: The spatial distribution of vents on Jeju Island is influenced by the geometry of magma sources, stress orientation, and crustal structures, as examined through various methods. Comparing the distribution patterns with volcanic evolution and seismic tomographic images helps interpret the underlying structure of the sub-volcanic system. The study suggests that probability density functions of vent groups can estimate magma storage depths and the spatial pattern of vents provides an integrated image of the sub-volcanic system.

Summary: This study examines the associations between unemployment, GDP, population growth, renewable and non-renewable energy use, and ecological footprints in South Asian countries using annual data from 1991 to 2019. The findings show that GDP, non-renewable energy use, and population growth have positive effects on environmental degradation, while renewable energy use and unemployment reduce environmental deprivation. The study also confirms the presence of the environmental Phillips curve in South Asian countries. Policy instruments are proposed to reduce environmental pollution, including increasing the share of renewable energy and revising urban policies.

Summary: This study found that the incidence rate of corneal transplantation in patients with keratoconus was relatively low in South Korea compared to other countries. Male sex, severe atopic dermatitis, obstructive sleep apnea, and intellectual disability were significantly associated with an increased risk of progression to corneal transplantation in patients with keratoconus.

Summary: This study analyzed the characteristics of cold surges in the Korean Peninsula over the past 45 years and found that most of the cold surges were not influenced by blocking. The blocking mainly occurred in the Okhotsk region and Ural region, and sometimes simultaneous blocking in both regions resulted in stronger and longer-lasting cold surges. Cold surges affected by blocking had slower progression compared to those not affected by blocking, with the impact of blocking in the Ural region being the most significant, followed by the Okhotsk region.
