Summary: An unrecorded wild mushroom Lactarius hatsudake was discovered in the Nanyue mountainous region of China. Comparative investigation on its nutritional value, elemental bioaccumulation, and antioxidant activity was conducted in the fruiting body and mycelium samples. The results showed differences in moisture, ash content, and concentration of various elements between the fruiting body and mycelium, as well as similar levels of total carbohydrate, fat, and protein. Additionally, it was found that the fruiting body might pose a health risk related to aluminum exposure, while the mycelium was considered safe for consumption. Both the fruiting body and mycelium exhibited antioxidant activity, with the mycelium showing a stronger ABTS radical scavenging capacity.

Summary: Thirteen new lanostane triterpenoids and nine known compounds were isolated from the fruiting bodies of Fomitopsis pinicola. Extensive analysis of spectroscopic data and single-crystal X-ray diffraction were used to determine their structures and absolute configurations. Pinicopsic acid F and 16 alpha-hydroxy-3-oxolanosta-7,9(11),24-trien-21-oic acid showed moderate inhibitory activities against LPS-induced NO production in RAW 264.7 cells.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the content of bioelements and selected organic compounds, as well as evaluate the antioxidant activity, in the fruiting bodies of Agaricus bisporus from different cultivation flushes. The results showed that the fruiting bodies from the first flush were the most valuable, containing high levels of dietary and nutritional substances, as well as exhibiting potential antioxidant and antidepressant activities.

Summary: Coriolus versicolor, an edible medicinal mushroom in China, contains two polysaccharides CVPn and CVPa, which have been shown to possess immunomodulatory abilities on RAW 264.7 macrophages. CVPa, with higher molecular weight and fewer branches, induces significant production of NO, iNOS, and TNF-alpha mRNA expression levels in cells, suggesting enhanced immunomodulatory potential compared to CVPn.

Summary: This study isolated and characterized Pleurotus eryngii polysaccharide fractions containing various polysaccharides, and found that different components had different effects on TLR2 and dectin-1 activation. The activation of the human β-1,3-glucan receptor dectin-1 was correlated with the amount of beta-glucan in each fraction.

Summary: Two new nor-triterpenoids, ganodrenol A and B, and a new natural product, ganodrenol C, along with three known nor-triterpenoids, were isolated from the fruiting bodies of Ganoderma lucidum. The chemical structures of these compounds were determined by various analytical techniques. Compound 4 showed strong inhibition against FAAH, but exhibited no significant cytotoxicity.

Summary: This study successfully established a method to synthesize EMLR of ECSC on pear seedlings. The results showed that the growth of pear seedlings was similar regardless of the level of root colonization, suggesting a commensal relationship rather than parasitism of ECSC. Specific strains, media, and substrates were able to produce ECSC fruiting bodies successfully in the experiment.

Summary: This study analyzed the effects of different drying treatments on the physicochemical properties of Cordyceps militaris polysaccharides and further investigated their therapeutic effects on ulcerative colitis in zebrafish. The results showed that the polysaccharides had distinct properties and regulation effects depending on the drying method. Additionally, the study found that the polysaccharides could improve ulcerative colitis by activating specific signaling pathways.
