Summary: The global prevalence of diabetic retinopathy (DR) in pediatric patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) is significant, especially after 5 years of diagnosis. Fundus photography is more sensitive than fundoscopy in detecting DR, making it the recommended method for early detection in pediatric patients. Annual screening starting from diagnosis is crucial for the timely detection and treatment of DR.

Summary: Our study systematically reviewed the literature on the associations between built environment characteristics and type 2 diabetes (T2D) in Asia. The findings showed that several built environment attributes, such as urban green space, walkability, food environment, and air pollution, were significantly related to T2D in Asia. Additionally, particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide, and sulfur dioxide were strongly associated with T2D risk. This highlights the importance of considering the built environment in relation to T2D prevention and public health planning.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the prevalence and risk factors of type-2 DM in Ethiopian population. The pooled prevalence of DM in Ethiopia was 6.5%, with identified risk factors including older age, illiteracy, cigarette smoking, MBI >= 25, family history of DM, history of hypertension, and physical inactivity. Awareness of these risk factors is crucial for effective prevention and management of type-2 DM in this population.

Summary: This meta-analysis aimed to estimate the global incidence and prevalence of pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The results showed a high incidence and prevalence of T2DM-PTB, particularly in Asia and countries with a high TB burden. This study highlights the need for more preventive interventions among T2DM patients, especially in high TB burden countries.
