Summary: This study investigates the installation of seismic stations near railways and traffic roads to assess the impact of vibrations from trains and vehicles on subsoil spectral properties. Using a cemetery as a case study, it is found that despite the presence of crack patterns in buildings in the area, the observed damage is unlikely to be attributed to the vibrations generated by nearby trains and vehicles.

Summary: Long-term monitoring of the lynx population in the Bohemian Forest Ecosystem revealed an increase in density but a stable number of family groups, with high survival rates and low reproductive rates. This suggests that the strictly protected study area acts as a source for the surrounding multi-use landscapes.

Summary: This study investigates the use of guarding net to reduce discard waste in the small-scale fisheries of Egadi Islands MPA. The results show a significant difference in discard quantities between the control group using traditional trammel net and the experimental group using trammel net with guarding net. However, the use of guarding net leads to a significant commercial loss of 40%.

Summary: This study compared the environmental impact of two strawberry cultivation systems in central Italy, finding that despite similar impacts per kg of strawberries produced, differences existed in the use of crop inputs and materials/technology between soilless and mulched soil tunnel systems. Mitigation measures considered included replacing packaging (excluding plastic) and using perlite and compost from insect breeding as alternatives for the growing medium in soilless cultivation.

Summary: Although protected areas have limitations, private lands play a crucial role in conservation efforts. Research in the buffer area of Pench Tiger Reserve, India, indicates that landowners' willingness to engage in agroforestry programs is influenced by various factors.

Summary: The article introduces an integrated environmental accounting model called 'eValue', applied in the Italian Marine Protected Areas to implement an environmental accounting system. The eValue model showed impressive results in terms of value generated in the Porto Cesareo MPA and the ratio of net benefit to public funding.

Summary: This study aimed to explore mammalian diversity in Darjeeling district using camera traps and questionnaire surveys, finding that there was no significant difference in species richness between protected and non-protected areas. Factors such as the proportions of oak and bamboo in the forest, percentage canopy cover, and camera trap operational days were significant predictors of species richness. Landscape based conservation planning is crucial for achieving long term conservation goals in the study area.

Summary: Biodiversity, comprising genetic diversity and complex ecosystems, is essential for maintaining environmental balance. Determining the monetary value of biodiversity can enhance public awareness and shape demands for conservation efforts. In the case of the Central Alborz Protected Area in Iran, estimates show that respondents prioritize the status of animal species and tourism facilities, indicating the economic significance of biodiversity protection.

Summary: In Italy, there has been a wave of re-peasantization since the 1990s, with new entrant farms adopting strategies based on territorial resources to minimize dependence on external inputs. Built social networks support diversification of activities, market circuits, and knowledge sources for these farms.

Summary: This study aims to examine the concept and examination methods of distrust in protected area and natural resource management. By reviewing the literature in this field, it provides a comprehensive overview of the formation and consequences of distrust, as well as the theoretical development and investigative methods used.

Summary: The MPAG framework was applied to analyse governance structure of Lyme Bay MPA in southwest England, highlighting a diversity of incentives for stakeholder engagement and awareness-raising. Both bottom-up and top-down approaches were found to contribute to the effectiveness of the MPA governance, with a complementing NGO-led project playing a role in adaptive co-management. Challenges such as external pressures and reduced NGO involvement may test the resilience of the governance structure and the overall effectiveness of the MPA in the future.

Summary: Monitoring land cover changes in protected areas is crucial for biodiversity and ecosystem conservation. This study used remote sensing to estimate spatiotemporal changes and fragmentation in Llanganates National Park (PNL), Ecuador. Satellite images were processed using the Maximum Likelihood Classification (MLC) algorithm to obtain land cover. The analysis showed no significant land cover change between 1991 and 2016, and no difference among the three watersheds. The level of fragmentation in PNL was found to be low. These results indicate that biodiversity and landscape conservation processes in PNL are effective.

Summary: Multifunctional forest management requires balancing productive forestry, protection needs, and other benefits. This study used GIS and FIS to create an accessibility map for Abruzzo, Lazio, and Molise National Park. The results showed that accessibility was sufficient but not optimal in productive management units and poor in areas focused on soil protection and biodiversity conservation. Forest road density was unevenly distributed, and there is potential for adopting a different policy for forest road network management.

Summary: The study found that elements of self-directedness (such as self-regulation, agency, and autonomy) are increasingly prevalent in researchers' conceptualizations of language learning strategies over time. Additionally, trends in language related to self-directedness highlight how learners operationalize strategies and their intended purposes.

Summary: This study focuses on assessing litter magnitudes along the Torre Guaceto Marine Protected Area in Brindisi, Italy. The collected litter was classified into four types according to European guidelines, with plastics being the most common. Hazardous litter items accounted for 21.3% of the total collected items. Environmental indices indicated a moderate cleanliness level and presence of hazardous litter items in the study area.
