Summary: The extended use and reuse of seeds by farmers led to natural variability in the tomatillo variety, which provided a great opportunity for genetic improvement. Through two successive seasons, genotypes with good performance were selected from a heterogeneous population. The results showed significant differences in early yield and fruit characteristics compared to the original population. Path analysis, heritability, and selection genetic gain revealed that early yield and fruit set were the most critical traits for fruit yield in tomatillo.

Summary: This study reveals that chemistry undergraduate students face challenges in understanding electrochemical concepts, primarily stemming from a lack of solid knowledge about redox phenomena. This deficiency can have a direct impact on the continuity of electrochemical studies in higher education.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the characteristics of interventions using the Touchpoints model to promote child development. Through a comprehensive analysis of various literature and databases, it was found that these interventions were mainly focused on the period from pregnancy to three years old, with an emphasis on disseminating Touchpoints content based on age and aspects of parenting. The findings suggest that these interventions have positive effects on child development and parenting, however, due to the diversity of interventions, identifying effective characteristics remains challenging.

Summary: Monitoring the viral load of SARS-CoV-2 in wastewater can predict the increase in COVID-19 cases in advance and serve as an early warning system. Wastewater-based epidemiology, which includes symptomatic, pre-symptomatic, and asymptomatic individuals, provides valuable data to contain the spread of the virus.

Summary: There are many challenges in the teaching of veterinary anatomy, such as limited classroom time, costs, and difficulties in accessing animal cadavers due to concerns about animal welfare. Additionally, veterinarians and radiologists complain that newly graduated students lack anatomical knowledge. On the other hand, the current limitations of in-person teaching due to the COVID-19 pandemic suggest the necessity of developing online distance learning tools, especially in specialties that lack this type of material. Teaching platforms that integrate anatomy with other applied disciplines such as imaging and surgery in horses were not found in the consulted literature. Therefore, this study aimed to develop an online distance education platform for the study of surgical anatomy of the horse's musculoskeletal system as a complementary tool for training enrolled students in veterinary surgery programs. The musculoskeletal system was chosen as the focus because it is commonly encountered in equine surgeries. Anatomical specimens related to the musculoskeletal system were prepared and complemented with material related to diagnostic imaging, surgery videos, theoretical explanations, and an interactive radiological anatomy tool. Finally, all the material was uploaded onto an internet-accessible virtual platform. It is expected that the platform will be a tool that helps students in surgical training and prepares them with a better understanding of anatomy and its application in surgery.

Summary: This review discusses the analytical advances based on first-order calibration models and UV-Vis spectroscopy for water quality assessment. The research started in the 60s with the aim of estimating water quality characteristics using UV-Vis spectra. In the 1990s, first-order multivariate calibration models were introduced to predict water quality parameters using UV-Vis spectra. While many studies used univariate calibration for quantification, there were also challenges such as determining substances absorbing at the same wavelengths and low concentration determinations. Chemometric approaches were introduced to allow quantification without the need for analytical curve construction, but their application is still considered to be in the early stages.

Summary: This study aims to map the instruments for evaluating the risk of pressure injuries in critically ill adults in intensive care units, identify the performance indicators of the instruments, and assess the users' appreciation of the use and limitations of the instruments. The study found two major groups of instruments: generic and specific, with EVARUCI and CALCULATE demonstrating the best performance indicators in terms of predictive value. The study concludes that there is sufficient evidence to indicate one or more instruments for evaluating the risk of pressure injuries in critically ill adults in intensive care units.

Summary: This study validated the content and appearance of the Youth Empowerment Through Health Education Scale (EJEduS) after an educational intervention. The scale was evaluated by experts in the subject, as well as school adolescents and individuals from a quilombola community, using relevance, clarity, and pertinence criteria. The results showed that 18 items needed to be reformulated and 11 were excluded after consensus discussion with adolescents. Both the expert and adolescent agreement rates were almost perfect, indicating satisfactory content validity indexes and appearance of the scale in measuring youth empowerment through health education, with acceptable content validity coefficient and content validity index rates of 0.91.

Summary: This study analyzes social innovation through the implementation of a project called "Safe Route to School" by the Municipal city hall of Sao Paulo. The research finds that social innovation involves the co-creation of new services/products and is shaped by the interactions between the main stakeholders. In this case, co-construction and co-design occurred through feedback and ideas, allowing community participation and identification of potential improvements. The study results align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to transparency, social participation, improvement of spaces for active and sustainable mobility, and enhancement of environmental quality.
