Summary: The emergence of new uplink-intensive applications and the ambitious vision of the Internet-of-Things will lead to unprecedented increases in uplink wireless data traffic. Current network designs focused on optimizing downlink performance cannot fully utilize uplink communications. To address this issue, a DL-UL decoupled access approach called DUDe has been proposed, which allows users to connect to different base stations at different frequencies. DUDe can complement various 5G technologies and still requires further efforts from academia and industry. This survey provides a comprehensive overview of the DUDe approach, including operating bands and serving base stations, and compares it with other 5G UL coverage enhancement technologies.

Summary: In this study, the researchers conducted a nationwide online survey in the Philippines to understand the COVID-19 vaccine intent of the population. The majority of respondents expressed willingness to be vaccinated and factors such as perceptions of susceptibility, severity, and benefits were found to influence vaccination intention. External cues to action, such as others receiving the vaccine or politicians receiving the vaccine, also played a role.

Summary: Author profiling from text documents has gained popularity in natural language applications, with age and gender being the most researched profile attributes. Traditional machine learning methods outperform deep learning methods in age and gender classification tasks. However, the lack of consistency and uniformity in datasets and the presence of future research issues pose challenges in this field.
