Summary: This study investigates the impacts of real income, renewable energy consumption, and their interaction effect on carbon emissions in low-income countries. The results show that renewable energy reduces emissions, but the interaction effect remains positive. Policymakers should promote the adoption and use of renewable energy to mitigate carbon emissions.

Summary: In Jordan, there is a tendency for excessive energy consumption after installing residential photovoltaic systems, which can overload the national electric grid. This research found that 88% of households experienced an increase in energy consumption after installing PV systems, with an average increase of 41%. The average share of self-consumed energy out of the total generated by PV systems was 27.7%.

Summary: Low-income housing has a significant role in reducing energy use, but barriers persist for low-income households to participate in energy efficiency programs. Previous research studies have primarily focused on homeowners, limiting the applicability of findings to low-income households. This study aims to identify and evaluate energy efficiency barriers faced by low-income households. A questionnaire survey was conducted with 212 low-income households in Australia, and the results indicate financial barriers as the most highly rated.

Summary: This study examines the effects of question order on support for various energy technologies among the Australian public. The results show that different experimental frames can impact individuals' support for different options, with the energy behaviours frame having a significant influence on overall support levels. This highlights the importance of considering question sequencing and topic salience in survey research.

Summary: A rapidly warming planet poses a significant challenge for Indigenous housing in Australia. This article models the thermal performance of Indigenous housing in different regions and finds that retrofitting existing housing or building new housing to current standards is insufficient for climate change adaptation. Significant reform is necessary to improve habitable conditions and energy resilience for Indigenous communities.

Summary: This research examines the effects of structural profile, consumption of clean energy sources, and revenue generation on environmental sustainability by measuring carbon dioxide emission levels. The results suggest that urbanization promotes a clean environment, while the use of green energy and economic growth degrade the atmosphere. Short-term structural changes may also have a negative impact on environmental sustainability. Therefore, policymakers should prioritize energy production from renewable sources and enforce strict laws and regulations to reduce carbon emissions.

Summary: As social interest in energy welfare increases, support programs and policies for fuel poverty are steadily being implemented. Energy subsidies play a significant role in improving indoor thermal conditions affected by fuel poverty, but a balance between energy welfare and energy saving policies is needed.

Summary: This study examines the relationships between energy use intensity and various factors, such as housing characteristics, socio-demographics, technology, and energy-related behaviors. It also explores whether these relationships vary across income groups. The findings reveal that these factors significantly influence energy use intensity, and that the relationships differ among income groups.

Summary: This article discusses the issues of resource scarcity and overpopulation and explores the implementation and promotion of sustainable solutions. Through a Danish experiment, it is found that changing attitudes and promoting sustainable initiatives can significantly reduce fuel consumption. The article also emphasizes the importance of a modern society building on habits that propel citizens towards their goals and understanding the barriers posed by certain habits to achieve desired outcomes.

Summary: The study examines the time-varying effect of income inequality on renewable energy consumption, with a short period of negative relationship between 1995 and 2002, followed by a switch to positive relationship from 2010 onwards. Different measures of renewable energy show heterogeneous effects of income inequality, emphasizing the need for policymakers to consider the channels through which income inequality works when developing dynamic policies for renewable energy uptake or transition.

Summary: Despite some achievements towards the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 targets, EU member countries have reportedly struggled to meet the specific goal of Sustainable Consumption and Production (SDG 12). Factors such as domestic material consumption, income levels, and renewable energy utilization play crucial roles in determining the environmental sustainability of the EU-28. Domestic consumption negatively impacts environmental quality, while higher income levels have mixed effects in the short and long term. Cleaner energy development, however, has a positive impact on environmental sustainability over both time horizons, while real income levels contribute to greenhouse gas emissions.

Summary: Based on the requirements of circular economy in Guangxi and the drivers of low-carbon competitiveness in the regional construction industry, a causal flowchart and system dynamics model were constructed, with simulation results of the development trend of low-carbon competitiveness using VENSIM PLE software. Various factors’ promotion effects from 2010 to 2020 were obtained, leading to proposed countermeasures and suggestions from the perspective of a circular economy.

Summary: The study highlights the importance of residential firewood consumption in Australian households and the lack of research in this area. It identifies geographic location, housing type, number of wood-fired appliances, and behavioral factors as key determinants of firewood consumption in Australia. The results emphasize the value of incorporating a wide range of socio-demographic, dwelling-related, and behavioral variables in household surveys to better predict residential firewood consumption.
