Indium tin oxide (ITO) and titanium dioxide (TiO2) anti-reflective coatings (ARCs) were deposited on a (100) P-type monocrystalline Si substrate by a radio-frequency (RF) magnetron sputtering. Polycrystalline ITO and anatase TiO2 films were obtained at room temperature (RT). The thickness of ITO (60 to 64 nm) and TiO2 (55 to 60 nm) films was optimized, considering the optical response in the 400- to 1,000-nm wavelength range. The deposited films were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The XRD analysis showed preferential orientation along (211) and (222) for ITO and (200) and (211) for TiO2 films. The XRD analysis showed that crystalline ITO/TiO2 films could be formed at RT. The crystallite strain measurements showed compressive strain for ITO and TiO2 films. The measured average optical reflectance was about 12% and 10% for the ITO and TiO2 ARCs, respectively.

Summary: Nanocrystalline zinc-doped cobalt ferrite particles were successfully synthesized using co-precipitation, with XRD used for phase identification. UV-vis spectroscopy showed an increase in band gap energy with higher zinc content. FT-IR spectra and SEM analysis revealed the morphologies of the samples.

Summary: This study investigates the performance of thin n-CdS/p-SiGe/p+-BaSi2 heterojunction solar cells with a BaSi2 layer as the BSF material. The results show that optimal performance is achieved when the SiGe absorber layer thickness is between 10 and 15 μm. By optimizing the thickness of the BSF BaSi2 layer, an efficiency of 17.05% is anticipated for the device.

Summary: This study numerically analyzed the effects of single-layer antireflection coatings (SLARCs) on the performance of crystalline silicon-based solar cells. It found that using amorphous tungsten trioxide as the antireflection coating can achieve higher efficiency. The research provides cheap and fast experimental data for the production of SLARCs.

Summary: This study synthesized and characterized Nd-Zn doped nanocrystalline Ca0.5Ba0.5-xNdxZnyFe12-yO19 hexaferrites via sol-gel auto combustion method, showing enhanced electrical and structural properties. Doping inversely affected lattice parameters and resulted in nanocrystalline sizes ranging from 16 to 29 nm. Nd-Zn doping significantly decreased dielectric losses, making these hexaferrites promising for high frequency applications.
