Summary: In this study, a series of coumarin derivatives with long alkoxy chains were designed and synthesised for thin film materials, characterised by various methods. Aggregates formation on thin films were revealed, with different functional groups showing distinct switching behaviors, dependent on the alkyl chain length. The properties of synthesized materials were found to be influenced by the length of the alkyl chain.

Summary: The present study demonstrated the capacitive coupled non-zero and type-II hysteresis behavior in nickel ferrite-titanium oxide nanocomposite, showing that the electrical properties are dependent on the magnitude of the electrical stimulus. By calculating charge-flux and characteristics, the dominance of memristive and type-II properties was further clarified, along with a proposed resistive switching mechanism. This research provides insights into explaining the non-zero and type-II hysteresis behavior of memristive devices.

Summary: Photocatalytic technology using TiO2 and V-TiO2 as catalysts showed improved degradation efficiency for aniline. The V-doped TiO2 exhibited redshifted absorption band edges, reduced band gap value, improved photocatalytic activity, and broadened optical response range. The optimal V concentration for degrading aniline was found to be 1.5 mol%, and moderate V modification inhibited the complexation of e(-)/h+ pairs effectively.

Summary: The study proposed a model to mathematically describe the isothermal crystallization kinetics of a polymer from the melt, using differential scanning calorimetry curves obtained from the molten state at different temperatures. The model was tested on a commercial 3D printing polylactic acid (PLA) sample and successfully fitted all DSC curves. The results suggest the existence of multiple crystal forms of PLA and provide a new approach for understanding and predicting the crystallization process of the polymer.

Summary: The study explored various types of shellac and found no chemical difference between them, but identified variations in extrudable temperature ranges and rheological properties. Due to its shear-thinning behaviors, shellac can be extruded at lower temperatures, providing necessary data for processing conditions in hot melt extrusion applications for shellac materials.

Summary: New samples of PVA-TiO2/Cu nanocomposites were prepared and examined using various analytical methods. The addition of TiO2/Cu nanoparticles resulted in a decrease in the crystallinity of the PVA structure, improved optical properties, and enhanced thermal stability. The AC conductivity was also improved by incorporating the nanoparticles into the polymer matrix. These findings suggest that the PVA-TiO2/Cu nanocomposites have potential applications in energy storage and rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.
