Summary: This study investigates the association between NAFLD and the risk of head and neck cancer (HNC) in patients with type 2 diabetes. The results show that NAFLD is associated with an increased risk of HNC in the oral cavity, pharynx, and larynx, but not in the salivary gland. Further research is needed to understand the underlying mechanism and how improving NAFLD can reduce the development of HNC.

Summary: This study found a significantly increased risk of EC in diabetic women compared to the general population, especially in younger patients at T2DM diagnosis and those with longer duration of diabetes. The use of glucose-lowering medication combinations, except for insulin only, was associated with a higher EC risk in diabetic women.

Summary: Myosteatosis, as determined by diagnostic imaging, may be used to predict QOL trajectories among patients undergoing treatment, providing a potential tool for clinicians to identify those in need of additional support. Patients with myosteatosis reported significantly lower physical and global QOL scores one year following treatment completion compared to those with normal muscle density.

Summary: This study investigated the risk and protective factors of dry eye disease (DED) in patients with type II diabetes mellitus (DM). The results showed that female sex, advanced age, poor diabetic control, microvascular complications, and receiving ocular procedures were associated with DED in patients with DM. GLP-1 agonist, SGLT-2 inhibitor, DPP4 inhibitor, and insulin were found to be superior to metformin in preventing DM-related DED.
