Summary: Pluronics, the first commercially used polymeric surfactants designed by BASF, have been applied in pharmaceutical formulations and drug delivery. A hydrophobic monomer EPTF was synthesized using the Williamson ether synthesis reaction, and ABA triblock amphiphilic polymers with Pluronic-like structure were synthesized through living cationic polymerization. These polymeric surfactants can reduce water surface tension, self-assemble into micelles with low critical micelle concentration, and effectively load hydrophobic anticancer drugs like baicalin for enhanced therapeutic efficacy.

Summary: A facile and scalable approach was demonstrated to prepare triple-scale colloidal particles via dispersion polymerization, with toluene playing a role in nucleation time prolongation and particle swelling capability enhancement. The elastic stress of the crosslinked polymer network was attributed to the formation of triple-scale structure, while the correlation between particle surface roughness and Pickering emulsion properties was investigated.

Summary: Chitosan based monodisperse poly[chitosan-N-isopropylmethacrylamide-acrylic acid] [P(CNA)] microgels were synthesized and used as micro-reactors to prepare Ag-P(CNA) hybrid microgels via chemical reduction of Ag+ ions. The resulting hybrid microgels were characterized by TEM, FTIR spectroscopy, and UV-vis spectroscopy. The catalytic potential of the Ag-P(CNA) hybrid system for the reduction of nitroarenes was evaluated using sodium borohydride as a reductant in aqueous medium. The Ag-P(CNA) hybrid microgel system exhibited stable, economical, and efficient catalytic activity for the rapid reduction of nitroarenes both individually and simultaneously.

Summary: The modification of UiO-66-NH2 with imidazolium ionic liquids significantly reduces the nonspecific adsorption of nonphosphoproteins while maintaining good selectivity and adsorption performance towards phosphoproteins. The hydrophilic surface of the modified UiO@IL plays a key role in this process, leading to improved interactions between the absorbent and phosphoproteins.

Summary: A novel type of silicon-containing polyacrylate microspheres were successfully synthesized and used as column packing materials in HPLC, showing excellent stability and reproducibility. The microspheres were functionalized with thiol groups through a photo-initiated thiol-ene click reaction, and demonstrated efficient separation of small molecules and complex biosamples. The potential for further modification and commercialization of these hybrid microspheres in chromatographic applications is promising.

Summary: This paper focuses on the fabrication of new superhydrophobic nanocomposite coating materials for corrosion protection of petroleum pipelines. The study used batch emulsification polymerization technique to prepare three hydrophobic copolymers and sol-gel method to prepare SiO2 nanoparticles. The SiO2 nanoparticles were functionalized to enhance their hydrophobicity and then incorporated into the copolymer to fabricate three superhydrophobic nanocomposites. The highest contact angle and corrosion efficiency were achieved by the M5 nanocomposite.

Summary: Artificial protein cages, such as TRAP-cages, have potential applications in vaccines and drug delivery. TRAP-cages have the ability to control the disassembly conditions by modifying the interface between their building blocks. By using TRAP rings with different numbers of monomers, it is possible to predict the formation of other cages.
