Summary: The study found that increasing the duration of tactile stimulation only affected proprioceptive drift (PD) and not subjective questionnaires, indicating that PD and questionnaires are not proxies for one another, but reflect separate underlying processes of the somatic Rubber Hand Illusion (RHI).

Summary: The mental experience of our body has been extensively studied in various research fields. It is challenging to navigate and comprehend the relationships between different dimensions of bodily experiences due to the diversity of research approaches and conceptual frameworks. This narrative review proposes an integrative framework grounded in studies on consciousness and self-consciousness, providing a basis for evaluating findings on different aspects of bodily experiences.

Summary: This article investigates the role of presynaptic inhibition in proprioceptive signals and finds that it can modulate proprioceptive input based on muscle length. This presynaptic inhibition may be initiated by cortical signals and has an impact on stable motor output.

Summary: The influence of physical activity on interoception and the within-person variability following physical activity and sedentary behavior in daily life were investigated in this study. Findings showed that an increase in physical activity was associated with an increase in self-reported interoception, while an increase in sedentary behavior was associated with a decrease. Furthermore, engaging in exercise, daily-life physical activity, and non-screen time behavior were all related to an increase in self-reported interoception compared to screen-time behavior.

Summary: This study investigates whether humans can experience supernumerary limbs beyond their own body, and developed a paradigm for supernumerary hand illusion to address this question. The results demonstrate that a genuine illusion of owning two rubber hands can be elicited, and this supernumerary hand illusion can be isolated from the sense of ownership of a single rubber hand.

Summary: This study investigates deficits in imitation control and motor context processing in schizophrenia patients. The findings provide evidence for impaired control of imitation and reduced encoding of action context in schizophrenia patients.

Summary: The study explored the mediating role of pornography use between attachment insecurities and body image self-consciousness in a large sample of women. Results indicated a direct effect of anxious and avoidant attachment on body image self-consciousness in women, with only anxious attachment showing a mediating role of pornography use when in a romantic relationship.

Summary: In the rubber hand illusion (RHI), the synchronous touch between a fake hand and the real hand hidden from view induces the sensation of ownership (subjective embodiment) of the dummy hand and the illusory displacement (proprioceptive drift) of the real hand towards the fake hand. The relationship between subjective embodiment and proprioceptive drift in the literature has mixed results. A Bayesian meta-analysis provided strong evidence for a correlation between subjective embodiment and proprioceptive drift, supporting the model proposed by Botvinick and Cohen in 1998. However, the correlation of around .35 suggests that the two indices capture different aspects of the RHI.

Summary: This study focused on the effects of dynamic body feedback on an individual's experience of happiness, showing that executing a specific movement sequence based on elements associated with happiness with a DMTh can significantly enhance the corresponding affective state. Additionally, facilitating expressed emotion through movement elements not associated with happiness can enhance positive feelings such as empowerment, pride, and determination.

Summary: This study investigates the embodiment of emotions in the schizophrenia spectrum and finds a correlation between negative schizotypy and patterns of emotional embodiment. Individuals with elevated negative schizotypy experience emotions with higher intensity but lower clarity, and they also report more incongruent bodily sensations of emotions.

Summary: The study found that smartphones can be integrated into the body schema and extend body representation, with an increased perceived forearm length after imagining using a smartphone. There was no significant difference between high-frequency smartphone users and low-frequency smartphone users in the experiments.

Summary: This study investigated the postural effects of proprioceptive manipulations in orthograde posture on Non-Specific Low Back Pain patients for the first time. The results showed decreased sway speed and speed variance, without modulation in the main direction of sway, and the patients self-reported improved clinical outcomes after the manipulations.

Summary: The study examines the ability to accurately sense the locations of objects touching different body parts and the corresponding rapid movements to remove them. The results show that proprioceptive accuracy varies across different body parts, with the highest acuity in axial structures and the left upper limb.

Summary: The aim of this article is to discuss problems in the distribution map for conscious organisms and propose a different strategy for their evolutionary development. The author suggests complementing the UAL model with consideration of how body plans constrain brain evolution, specifically in vertebrates, which have played a key role in the complexification and diversification of consciousness through increased brain-body integration.

Summary: The manuscript provides a literary analysis of how the novel Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace portrays a world where oversaturation of external stimulation leads to a disconnection between mind and body, symbolizing a critique of society through the characters' disembodiment and disconnection.
