Summary: The study analyzed sex differences in predictors and outcomes of CABG in 176,680 FinnGen participants, finding that women had a stronger association between CABG and increased risks of various diseases compared to men, with a higher long-term risk of death post-CABG.

Summary: This study evaluated whether interhospital variation in mortality rates for coronary artery bypass grafting was driven by complications and failure to rescue. The study found a positive correlation between hospital failure to rescue rates and complications, suggesting that early recognition and management of complications are important factors in improving the success of coronary artery bypass grafting.

Summary: Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is the standard surgical procedure for treating multivessel and left main coronary artery disease. Ensuring graft patency during and after CABG surgery is crucial to prevent complications. Technical errors during anastomosis are a leading cause of early graft failure. Various techniques and modalities have been developed to evaluate graft patency and address any issues before they become significant. This review article aims to discuss the strengths and limitations of these techniques to identify the best modality for assessing graft patency during and after CABG surgery.

Summary: This study aimed to compare different indices of glycocalyx shedding and dysfunction in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery. The results showed that glycocalyx thinning was accompanied by impaired glycocalyx function and increased endothelial activation during CABG surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB).

Summary: This study aimed to analyze the effects of high-dose statin therapy before surgical revascularization. The results showed that additional statin loading before surgery did not reduce the rate of major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events (MACCE) occurring within 30 days.

Summary: A rare case of an elderly male patient with Takayasu arteritis after coronary artery bypass grafting was reported. Coronary artery involvement caused by TA may be a major cause of aggravation of symptoms in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI), especially after CABG.

Summary: The study found that postoperative complications after coronary artery bypass grafting have a significant impact on patients' long-term health-related quality of life and survival. Patients with complications experience more profound decline in quality of life, while those without complications fare better.

Summary: This study investigated the occurrence rate and factors influencing silent brain lesions following coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), finding an incidence of 20.1%. Patients undergoing on-pump CABG and those with aortic clamping had a significantly higher rate of brain lesions. The presence of new brain lesions was associated with postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD).
